You would be shocked to see some of the laws that various city councils have passed with the council members knowing absolutely NOTHING about the issue!! I'm currently fighting Coon Rapids city hall over an animal issue that makes no sense.

You're talking Coon Rapids, where they have a vehicle per square footage of driveway ordinance, Coon Rapids, where a car tucked along side the garage where it can be barely seen is a $300 fine but leaving it on the street or in your driveway is ok, Coon Rapids, where you can't stack wood in your side yard in a culdesac facing the same $300 fine... Yep, Coon Rapids, where if a Neighbor complains you can be charged another $300 for not mowing behind a fence along the road but the city owned property can be 10" or higher! (Various citations our culdesac neighbors have received.) Thankfully most of the fines are waived if the situation is corrected, but still...

I honestly know that a majority of the cops in Mpls either don't know that law or don't care anything about it. A number of years ago when I lived and worked down town I was carrying my cased HK91 and a bunch of other guns down the street to where my Jeep was parked. Spent a few minutes loading up the Jeep when a 1st Precinct cruiser came rolling up. He powered down the window, I asked if I could help him. Cop asks if I'm going up north hunting or just to the range, told him I was going to Bills for some target practice. We got talking about guns, he told me he had a couple ARs at home (ex military) and I told him about what I shot. I finally asked him if he just happened to see me loading up the Jeep. He said some "pillowbiter" called in that there was a guy walking down the street "with a gun". When he saw me loading up the Jeep he came over to say hi. Wasn't a big deal, he could have cared less. I'm real sure if that "law" was being enforced it might have been different but most of the Mpls cops I've met or know are pretty laid back and more worried about real crime. FWIW,

I learned that word from the movie PCU, from David Spade's character. I will not lie: I laughed my ass off. One of those "oh, I get it!" moments that surprise you.

But I'd never refer to someone else by that name. It's for the same reason I don't go around calling people fatties. It's mean spirited. (Well, except the weight loss threads, but that's a tough love situation...)

If they wanted to inforce this law why do let the MWCA have a show at the convention center each year. I have purchased a couple of rifles that would fall into that category. walked out the door and down the street to my truck.
