I also used the election to finish off an AR. Wife didn't like it...but she certainly understood.

She has a small 380 which she might carry. Mine is a full framed 9mm i got for home defense. I want to get a 380 as well for carry and this is where my problem lies. Normally I would be in no hurry and would just save up the money slowly. But with the elections coming up I get the uncomfortable feeling that Obama might get his second reign and the prices will skyrocket or i will lose the right all together to purchase or even carry. So i guess i have two worries.

Would you guys suggest i apply for my permit to carry and get the pistol before the election or don't worry about it and just get it whenever i feel like it?

what do you think?

Don't buy into the fear. Things aren't going to get astromagically better or worse no matter who wins. Some things have been the way they are for years, such as corporations having the site rights as a person (that one has been around since the Civil War days), aniother thing is gun ownership has always been around as well. People tend to think that the clouds will part and everything will be fixed (or destroyed) by X vs. Y person(s), and it won't be.

Buy it, don't buy it, do what you can afford to do. Tell you what, if American's rights to own guns are somehow taken away from us in the next 4 years, I'll give you one of mine and $5,000 USD cash, but if American's rights to own guns are NOT taken away in the next 4 years, then you pay me $5,000 USD cash and give me one of your guns, deal? (Yes, I have that small amount of cash right now and will in more than the next 4 years.) I am confident enough to seriously make the offer and confident enough that 5 years from now, Americans will still own guns. Again, don't buy into the fear.

If you're thinking about buying a gun, now is the time to do it. Even setting price increases aside, many handguns, ammunition and accessories are becoming very hard to find and they aren't going to get any easier. Consider a concealable 9mm like a Walther PPS. I'd skip the .380 idea. Also be aware that if you get a larger handgun, another limitation might be on magazines with a capacity greater than 10, so this would also be a good time to acquire higher-capacity mags.

If you think you might get a gun in the near future.... Get one now. Prices will only go up, just like everything else.

Now is always a good time to buy. I've never had a gun lose value. As long as you don't damage them - they are always good investment. And like all things that go up in value the more you wait the more you pay. Come see us at Armzen Arms after Nov 1st and we will be sure to find you the right gun at the right price.

Thanks for the invite! my brother just lives down the road from your new place! would be an excuse to come visit him or your store, depends how you look at it. I can tell you i'm pretty much set on the Sig p238 or the new p938. depends on availability of the design and price of course. Do you know yet if you will have any of these in stock right away or not?

I'm sure i am being a bit paranoid regarding the election outcome and my gun rights. I'm still somewhat new to the gun world and i just don't want to spend a bunch of money on something to potentially have it taken away from me some day by a bunch of smelly liberal hippies.

Not all liberals want to take away your gun rights and last time I checked the smelly hippies don't have the authority to do so either.

It's a bad time to buy yourself a gun, but it's a great time to buy me one.

Today is a great day to sell a gun.

Anyone want to buy my Springfield M1A Scout Squad? $2000. ;-)
