As far as North Dakota leaving, I'm fine with that. It'll save a lot of money to just have to send the troops across the border to secure the oil, rather than paying freight charges all the way to the Middle East. (This is a joke, designed to point out that the vast majority of US foreign policy in the last 50 years has been aimed at securing petroleum. Red states with oil that want to seceed should think about that).
This reminds me of when we'd play war when I was a little kid. We'd pull this tall reeds out of the ground, mash them around in the dirt until there was a big mudball on the end, then throw them at each other. You could call it proto-paint ball I guess, because there was no disputing you'd been hit. It was great fun until someone got hit in the eye, at which point that person would snuffle a bit and say in a quivery voice, "I'm going home."
Some folks need to grow up.
