Liberals are compulsive liars, incapable of doing anything honestly. They were in full theft mode during the last election, and may well have stolen several critical swing states.

Re: breadstain

I agree with your concern. Secession is not just idle talk in Texas. They have long been very serious about it, so much so, gov Perry had to come out and tamp down expectations.

Texas is the only state that can legally and financially revert back to it's own republic.

On a funny note, the city of Austin (aka san francisco) has a petition to secede from Texas, should they secede from the union.

on another note... Texas also has it's own power grid. So if the rest of the country's grid goes down, Texas will be just fine.

That is a common misconception - Texas has no legal right to secede.

I am not saying that they can't; just that the notion that they can do so legally is false.

When it comes to any government doing something or not, when did it being legal or not matter?

When it got in front of the Supreme Court?

City of Austin file petition to leave Texas. Let the hilarity ensue.

As far as North Dakota leaving, I'm fine with that. It'll save a lot of money to just have to send the troops across the border to secure the oil, rather than paying freight charges all the way to the Middle East. (This is a joke, designed to point out that the vast majority of US foreign policy in the last 50 years has been aimed at securing petroleum. Red states with oil that want to seceed should think about that).

This reminds me of when we'd play war when I was a little kid. We'd pull this tall reeds out of the ground, mash them around in the dirt until there was a big mudball on the end, then throw them at each other. You could call it proto-paint ball I guess, because there was no disputing you'd been hit. It was great fun until someone got hit in the eye, at which point that person would snuffle a bit and say in a quivery voice, "I'm going home."

Some folks need to grow up.

Senate? Not that it really matters, as they are independent after they are appointed.

No, the senate CONFIRMS the appointment.

My point regarding "who appoints the justices to the supreme court?" is that our government does..... (ok, the President does, but he's an agent of the government).. point being, the supreme court and those in it are us citizens, residing inside the united states, they are not really totally seprate.

It's doubtful the supreme court is ever going to overrule the government or the person that appointed them for life.
