What Dealer(s) Have Fair Used Prices

Postby LarryP on Sun Dec 16, 2012 11:31 pm

Going to look for a 22 pistol for fun--- target & general shooting.

Who is a good dealer for used guns around Eden Prairie?

Any particular model(s) to look for? I don't know anything about them.

Thanks

I have several ruger 22 pistols, 22/45's and Mark III's - VERY enjoyable pistols. I often find myself bringing those to the range way before the 357's and 44's come out. Just recently bought the Ruger 22/45 Lite, put the Volquartsen trigger kit in and that thing just can't miss. Can't help you on the Eden Prairie location as I'm in Anoka. Good luck in your search!

In a two-hour outing you could visit ALL of the shops around Eden Prairie, including Arnzen Arms, Gander Mountain, Gunstop (Minnetonka), Frontiersman (SLP), and Metro Pawn (Richfield). Start out by figuring out I'd you want a full-size or a smaller gun. Look at a Ruger SR22, Sig Mosquito, Ruger MK III including 22/45. You probably wont find a used one discounted more than 20%, so consider if you'd be better off with new on a sale. Further advice- take some training.

I'd suggest checking with thunderjohn and grousemaster...both FFL dealers down in your neck of the woods. They could hook you up with a good deal on new, and maybe used too. Both great dealers

I'll have to concur on several already listed--always have gotten fair deals from Gunstop and Thunderjohn.

If Arnzen is open today, a buddy and mine may stop by...haven't had the pleasure yet.

As for models to look at--Browning Buckmark and Ruger Mk III or 22/45. Have both, nothing but solid.

Larry at the Gunstop in Minnetonka(?) had some .22s in his case last week. I'd look for a Ruger MkII, MkIII, or a Browning Buckmark.
Can't go wrong with either one.
Remember, gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

Arnzen Arms - I also have a few 22s in my personal collection I may be willing to sell depending on what your looking for.... New 22s generally are not that much more then used 22s to be honest

Larry has a beautiful Beretta 87 at the Gunstop.
I'm surprised that it was still there today.
