Has anyone ever been to the PTC class they provide, or heard anything about the class. Just passed it on my way to work and figured i would see if anybody had any experience with them.

I'm curious too.... has anybody taken a class with them? Deals on Radio has a $30 for "concealed carry" (I know, red flag) deal right now.... We live in Andover so it'd be convenient.

Just moved to MN and need to change my CCW License. I don't live far from there so I bought the class. I will let you know how it goes...

If you know eerything you need to know and simply want the cheapest deal... awesome - otherwise take some time and talk with the teacher and see if they are really a good fit. My first rule for any teacher is this...
I don't care how much you know until i know how much you care.

I took mine there a while back. Over all I thought it was ok. I dont have any first hand knowledge to compare it to but from talking with others that have taken theirs elsewhere, it sounds like the experience varies greatly from place to place. Maybe this is only the places doing 2 for 1 deals or groupons or what have you, that such a variance in courses occurs?

I thought the experience was alright. We watched a video that I can't remember a damn thing about (therefore probably not overly effective in its delivery). The discussion portion was good though. They got the group engaged in conversations about the law, consequences, various scenarios (what would you do in X.....now what if you knew X about said situation, now what would you do, how would you react?) The discussion part is what I took away the most from which is probably good.
I thought that they did a good job of making you think about carrying in public, the possible consequences of doing so and to think think think about the situations that might require you to engage a situation.
Its not as convienent as some for the shooting portion as the range time is not on site.

My wife and I took the class there and it did its job, got us a certificate. Conceal carry classes are NOT intended to teach you how to shoot, take a shooting class if that's what your after. The class is a formality....they all teach the same thing....what you can and can't do with your carry gun.

Funny, in my experience some of my teachers were better than others and had different ways of presenting the same material. I had English teachers for many years, I remember just one because he was so into it I actually enjoyed the class and learned something too... I strive to be that kind of instructor, don't always make it, but I try

Really?
You base this on how many classes that you have attended, or what you read on the internet?

I believe that I cover a lot of material that is not covered other in classes. I have had several people in my classes for a renewal and discussed with them their first carry class. Many times they said their first class was excellent, about the same length as mine and covered the standard basics. But they said their first class presented additional information which was different than the additional information I provided in my class.

So the instructors all teach the same thing???
