Panic is always driven by uncertainty, and just like the stock market, people act irrationally. There is a lot of uncertainty in the gun world right now, as you all know. For me personally, starting a new business has a lot of uncertainty, even without the politics. I am not planning on panicking, but I do expect to make many poor decisions. Hopefully I'm still in business in a year.

I must thank everyone who did come into the store for being patient with us. I'm very new to this whole retail thing and we're still working bugs out of our software, and getting our people trained. I saw many people having to wait, and while there are worse places to wait than a gun store, everyone's time is valuable. Though I have received no complaints, our service was not up to my expectations.

If it were up to me, everyone would spread their firearms purchases out evenly throughout the year. I disagree with the title of this thread. Now is not the time. Last month was the time. Now is the time to sit back, eat popcorn, and watch the circus.

If you have a gun addiction, the situation is not hopeless. We can fill your needs with pistols, revolvers, lever guns, shot guns, and bolt action rifles.

Well stated....

I would have been very tempted to report her to the management.

I'll bet they'd have taken that report seriously too. Talking down to your customers is terrible customer service ...

THIS is what I like about local gun shops and is something Arnzen is doing very well. The respect for the customer and the continual effort to do better by them.

Bravo!

Yeah, I was feeling a little sheepish for buying some Mags on Nov 7 ... Now I wish I'd purchased a BCG and another Barrel

I really wish they were closer, sounds like my kind of place to shop - I will make an effort to get there one day.

USAA called me today. Apparently I've been buying a lot of stuff, but the flag was that I made online and in person purchases and they just wanted to verify it was all me.

The lady said "oh, we have a lot of Christmas shopping and stuff this time of year, so these things happen" and I said "no, these are all "get it while you can" purchases." To which she replied "yes, I don't blame you."

It's nice to know your bank agrees with your priorities.

I missed this earlier? But was the tone: You crazy evil gun nu or was it Really, you can't leave any for me?

Never the less, my reply depending upon the tone, would have been along the lines of: No, I need many many more but this was all you had. - or - No, but I figured I'd leave some for you. ;)

Does anyone know whether or not handgun sales have skyrocketed? If not, this is encouraging for me, as I have been planning for weeks to make a pistol purchase in January.

Was at Strichers today, case loaded with handguns, they had one $2100 AR on the wall (I forget what make), and the guy at the counter was discussing how a pre-paid order would work if a ban was to happen before delivery of the rifle since there's no ETA's on any new sales.

Gunstop was pretty quiet at 4pm, and FF BP was down to a couple of the century hk clones, a couple magpul built lowers for $450, and an upper in the case for $680ish. There might have been one complete gun left, but I'm pretty sure the guy was filling out the 4473 for it at the time. FF also had a full case of handguns.

Just got back from FF in Lakeville, they had about 75% of the handguns sold and had a few $2000 AR's, on AK and and AK pistol. There were 3+ people filling out 4473s

I know some people are saying that people are panicking for no reason, but is it really for no reason? Especially given Obama's speech today, I would have to assume at the very minimum we are going to lose our high capacity magazines, and a very good possibility that we have another pointless "assault rifle" ban in the next month or two....

Also I am upset I didn't buy more Pmags when I had the chance! I have 6, but only 1 is a window! I wanted more window Pmags! Hopefully I can find one in stock one of the days.

Also on a side note. Arnzen Arms in Eden Prairie rocks! So glad we got another good gun store in the cities. I was getting sick of having to drive all the way to Element Arms in Becker (I live in Oakdale!) Now only if there was a good store that opened up in the Oakdale/Woodbury area. The only one we have is some crappy gun store in Woodbury, (Not including overpriced Gander Mountain)

Did they have any mags left on the shelves?

Whatever AR at Streicher's you saw yesterday was gone by noon today. I stopped in to see what the AR was, but the guy said they sold out of everything yesterday. Had a nice conversation with the guy. He said the madness didn't hit them hard until Tuesday, and then all of the sudden everything was sold. He said that DPMS and one other manufacturer or distributer told them 12 months for an order:D lol. Glad I'm not desperate for an AR. Though I would pick up another if I ran across a nice BCM, Colt, or similar. They had a few BCM charging handles, so I picked up a spare.

Called Element Arms just out of curiosity. Asked if they had anything left on their shelves. Guy laughed and said "nope!". He was super cool though and said there are still rifles still trickling in. Most were spoken for, but he listed off a decent number that were expected for arrival in the next day or two. I asked about some BCMs and he said the funny thing was they had a Mod 0 Carbine until yesterday, it was one of the last to go out the door. He said some old guy just bought it to get one, said he didn't think he really had any idea of the quality of rifle he was getting.

Anyone seen any decent high-end AR's out there?

Eden Prairie Gander had colt AR's this morning maybe 8, one S&W, several Remingtons. Prices were $1100 and up. Gunstop also had a few Colts this morning. Atomic is out of guns, lowers and uppers and some parts. Fleet in Lakeville is out of Ar's, mags and alot of ammo even regular hunting ammo in multiple calibers. Gander Lakeville had no Ar's or mags, had some Fed 100 packs of .223 for $49.99, also some tracers. J&S lakeville had 6-8 metal 20 rd mags nothing else. Arnzen had 1 Colt and one Remington Ar.. All places very busy and endless phone calls....do you have any Ar's, Mags or .223 ammo.
