I was very pleased to purchase a Huldra Carbine, on the afternoon the President announced his task force, but unfortunately your stores were already completely cleaned out of additional magazines. Is there any mechanism to get on a backorder list? I'm sitting at home with my new rifle and scratching my head at the magazine situation.

Thanks,
Aaron

Are you without any mags, or just looking to buy more?

I have the lone magazine that came with my rifle. So I'm looking to buy a few more at a reasonable price.

If you bring your receipt to the store showing that you made a recent rifle purchase I'm sure they can help you out. That is of course if they have any. However if they do, I'm sure they would be happy to help being you just purchased the rifle.
Thanks for your purchase, we appreciate the business.

Dave, I was not at all knocking what you are doing. I'm from the Ayn Rand school of thought and think a business should always do what is in it's own best interest. People too. And if everybody did that, the world could be a very productive, responsible and accountable place. Unfortunately, the world has more than a few who cannot stomach other people acting with more vigor and discipline than others. They seem to think they know better and want somebody other than themselves to do something about it. Some seem petty and jealous. And dishonest in that they are all about liberty, freedom, rights, etc -- until their ox is gored. Then they want some sort of intervention.

I think the current frenzy is silly and stupid, but am not whining that some entrepreneurial soul willing to spend his time and risk his money may be driving up the cost of stuff. Every deal requires a willing and able buyer, so I don't feel sorry for anybody. To be fair and transparent, I get to say that from the very comfortable position of late middle age, reasonably high disposable income, and being well stocked. I played the AR15 and ammo speculation game in the year before the 2008 elections and doubled++ my money in late 2008 and 2009 when a similar round of stupidity happened.

I clearly see that FF's policies are in what you consider to be your best interests, and applaud your efforts. It's a nice thing, and may be the first drop in an empty bucket of common sense. If I show up for a 3 gun deal, I'll let you pay for one of the whiners. I can pay my own way.

To all the haters of hustlers, entrepreneurs, gougers, and other unsavory and unseemly wheelers and dealers, be careful what you wish for . You may get it ;)

Thanks for the reply. I can appreciate your not knocking what we are doing but was confused because the Brady and Diane comments and your "reasonable" came off as sarcastic. If I read some thing wrong, my apologies but lets put that in the past. I am a capitalist at heart and I agree if there is a willing buyer ad seller then hey that's that. However, we want to take care of our customers, that comes before allowing the free market to prosper. If you're interested in 3 gun please look me up. I'd be happy to show you around the sport, I have loaner gear too so if you need to borrow a shell caddy let me know.

I'm not sure, I don't work directly with inventory and it has been changing by the minute. I mainly do tech support, PR and training. Best thing to do would be to call the store and see what they have.
Thanks, Dave

If you do decide to go shopping..... I've shot Dave's X-PRE and can say first hand they are a damn fine rifle. They come right off the rack with pretty much anything you would want from an AR. They aren't the lowest costing rifle on the shelf, but if you start adding up all the components and you'll quickly see the value.

Also, I think instead of investing in some reloading gear, once prices fall, I'm going to stock up on my own ammo + 223/5/56 + PMAGS for the next time it happens, then I'll double my money. Good ROI as far as I can see based on past trends. $150 a PMAG for sale next time around sounds fair to me. Once the price drops, maybe I'll buy a few hundred of them.

Sorry to say, but if we're going to have a situation where 30 round magazines cost $150 (which is unlikely due to the pre-ban supply we have now when compared to '94) there won't be a "next time" and prices won't fall. Legislation will either succeed or be defeated some time next session, and until that happens the market is going to be rough. If a ban is passed, prices won't drop again.

Possibly so. Time will tell.

Things will resolve themselves in time.
Wouldn't want to see you without a mag and a dead-in-the-water new rifle
