Holy Smoley Rugersol. Nice Fiber Optic. Did you need more reach for those big hands to put that three hole trigger in?
Got any pics of the grip safety?

... that's the 10-8 "NM" rear sight on there, too! ... I ran into some POI/POA issues ... I resolved some of it, with the link! ;)

Ya ... ya should see my grip, too! ... but, it works fer me!

Here's a link fer the pic ... http://px.7x57.net/colt/colt-38-80-slick.jpg ... jest click on it ... when it's inline in the forum, 'less ya got a giant monitor, it cuts off the pic! ;)

Here's the other one ... http://px.7x57.net/colt/colt-38-70-slick.jpg ... I fitted this one, myself! :o :? ... my cold-blue looked like ****! ... so, actually, after I took the pic last nite, I re-sanded it, and re-blued it ... I don't mean to brag ... but the contour aside, it looks "factory", now! ... hmmm ... now I gotta take a new pic! :|

Hmmm ... I took a pic of it with my Dan Wesson 10mm Bobtail slide on it (that's what was on it, 'fore I started last nite) ... must not've uploaded it! :( ... not a big deal! ... friggin' Dan Wesson! ... Bobtail won't run fer **** with the Wesson frame! ... but on this Colt frame, she purrs! ... with a Swenson .40 bbl, no less! (ya shoulda seen that thing ... I musta filed it down fer 60hr! ... what a POS! ... but once I got it in, it runs like a top! ... got it on-sale from Midway fer like $40 ... never again, though!)

The pics will nearly make your eyes fall out. It's a perfect looking Series 70 with white grips and another pics with the original Colt medallions

AFAIK, that IS a factory Colt Delta Elite. And that isn't nickel either, it's a rather rare Bright Stainless Delta. The grips are by Strad, BTW. I think I'm the 2nd owner, because the gun had very little wear, and the original funky plastic plug double recoil spring setup that I immediately ****canned. Sadly, it does have a quite visible "idiot mark" when the n00b/retard who owned it was reassembling the pistol, was trying to push home the slide stop, and it slipped up and across the slide.   Back in the day apparently Colt was putting out limited batches of these from their custom shop. There was a good history of 10mm pistols and serial numbers on the 10mm Talk forum, but it apparently has been swallowed up by AR-15.com and it's just guys like us yakking about 10mm rather than the serial number and model compilation that it used to be.

LostTiny202 that's a funny post. I needed a laugh too. thanks.

In all honesty you are going to have to read and try a few guns. Hell I've gone through a lot of 1911's.
If you go look in my holster you will see a Glock 19. Whatever you end up with, you have to spend time at the range with it, in order to trust it.

You could try going to the Gunstop and chatting with Larry. All of the gun guys around the metro are great, but he is a one guy
shop and I believe that he is as honest as the day is long. He will answer your questions, and let you hold different guns.
Good luck to you, and I hope that you find the perfect 1911.[/quote]

I have dealt with Gunstop before, and I have bought a few from them in the past, them and Frontiersman are my primary places when I am going to buy or after what I know i want. Both of my Kel-Tecs were purchased from Gunstop. SO Larry now owns it alone, I had heard it closed and re opened.

You ARE Lost, Tiny202 - That Para P14.45 came from Larry at Gunstop AFTER he reopened on December 1st, minus the Cocobolo grips. I mostly went over to say Hi and let him pet Sasha, but a hicap SS 1911 is one niche that was empty in my collection of Seismic pistols, and when he said $700, and it looked ANIB to me, and the trigger was almost as good as my Guncrafter, I bought it.

BTW, I bought my 50GI from Larry in the 1st year Guncrafter was around, and Larry let me represent myself as an employee and send the check to Alex Zimmerman myself, and I paid Larry whatever it was for the FFL transfer when the gun showed up, so I got it for dealer cost. Larry always has Pupperoni in the store for Sasha...

Sawgrass: PM me when it comes in, and I'll stop down with my 50 GI AND Sasha, and you can compare the two guns. Your will look very spiffy compared to mine, which has ZERO bling factor. When I first got it it looked like it had been perfectly machined out of a single lump of coal. The finish on the front lines of the slide is showing a little holster wear, but it's just barely a lighter shade of black.

Larry's prices are unbeatable. We stopped in to say hello the first day he reopened and managed to come out of there with three long guns that were priced below market value. He had his inventory sheet and sold them for a profit but isn't trying to retire off of every sale. We both think the world of him.

Sam my Guncrafter might land at AA today. The dealer sent it USPS after charging me $50.00 for shipping. Then he said he forgot to put his FFL in with it and that he is out of town for a funeral. I don't know when I'm going to take possession of it. Hopefully Monday at the latest. From everything that I've read and heard Guncrafter, Alex Zimmerman and another smith there named Jess Christensen are just great! Jess and I have been pm'ing on a different forum and he is incredibly helpful and nice.
It would be great for you and Sasha to stop over and compare pistols. I haven't ever seen a Guncrafter before in person. Do you have the conversion kit?

No, Sawgrass, I do not have the conversion kit, and in my mind there's no way in hell I can justify it to myself, with TWO 45 Super pistols already in the stable - A normal capacity Rolls Royce quality 1911 might be nice, but it would never get any use or carry. As a matter of fact, if I were going to do something like that in case the global warming makes Minnezotah warm enough for zombies to survive in the winter like they do in Florida, I would probably mod my Para P14.45 to 45 Super, and it would essentially be a 15 shot semi-auto 41 mag, using 45 bullets...
