Re: 22 ammo (some found)

Just a heads up for those looking. I was at Joe's sporting goods in St Paul this morning, and apparently they found a bunch of ammo hiding in their basement. I asked if there was a limit and they said "Have it, its there to be sold" I think they had 3 or 4 brands of .22LR, including CCI HV and HP.

Heh, I spent all evening yesterday checking online. When I got to page 14 of google results being backordered or not taking internet orders, I gave up.

I hope the manufacturers find a way to catch up with this demand real soon

Yeah, good thing it's freakin cold outside...I'll put off going to the range and shooting up my stash until the retail shelves are restocked with ammo again. Is it just me, or are the shelves emptier this time than in 2008-2009? It seems about the only thing in good supply are regular shotguns and shotgun ammo.

Jan 7th I ordered 5,250 rounds of .22LR from Cabellas and here we are 2 weeks later, not a peep from them, nor has my package arrived either. I emailed them and we'll see what their response is. It's only 2 weeks and there is a higher-than-normal demand going on right now, but still, communication is key.

I think things are worse this Obama round. But good news, Gander Mountain in Woodbury is getting their AMMO supply on Thursday night. Should be ready for sale Friday AM. Word to the wise! Save some for me please.

It may well be 6-8 weeks or more. Back in 09, I placed orders with Cabela's for center-fire pistol ammo and the back-order sometimes took 4 months!

Cabelas ammo was always back ordered before all the craziness.

Oh Shoot..... ( or not if ya don't have the ammo ) heh.

They sent me this last night:

"We appreciate your patience! According to our inventory records, the merchandise in question is currently out of stock. The tentative arrival date for this particular item to our warehouse is 2/25/13. Cabela's strives to keep stock available for shipment at all times. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay might cause you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us again for prompt assistance, thank you."

THEY won't have it until 02/25/2013. IF they get it as expected on that date....and then who knows how long before *I* get it after they do. Well, good thing I'm well-stocked. I didn't know they were BO'd before the craziness of panic buying.... doom on me for not knowing.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Dick’s Sporting goods doesn’t seem to running out of .22 ammo thus far. They keep it locked up behind the gun counter, so you have to ask a sales person for assistance.
I was there twice last week and bought a couple of bricks each time...... CCI Standard Velocity @29.99 ea.

Cambridge wall-mart got .22 ammo in last night. I picked a 555 box. When I first looked they did not have any butt I walked past latter and the uy waved me down and he was stocking the shelf's with it and he handed me a box.

Timing is everything. I wish I could do that with .45ACP in the 100 round boxes heh.

Yup, my supply is around 12,000 rounds, but I keep getting the urge to grab more when I have the opportunity.
