Has anyone thought about all the businesses that post, that the reason they do so MIGHT be because of their Insurance carriers? They might be FORCED to post signs just so their business insurance carrier doesn't drop them.

Boycotting all the businesses that post might leave you with very few businesses that you can enter.

I doubt that's the case, since there are two sides to the coin. If the insurance carrier forces a business to post then they're subjecting themselves to liability if one sues because they weren't able to defend themselves in an attack.

Anyone have more info on insurance carriers requiring this or offering a discount for businesses that do post?

Insurance companies are there to MAKE MONEY. They really don't give a crap about you or your property. That's why they have actuaries and hoards of number crunchers behind the scenes to sort out what will make them more more money. In this case, would an insurance company be ahead if they insisted a store was posted and later got sued by a person saying he wasn't allowed to carry when the SHTF. Or would they be ahead if they did NOT insist on store postings and some Libtard sued them because they had an anxiety attack in the store upon witnessing a "gun being carried about" by a law abiding person with permit. It's ALL about the money!!!

Typically insurance companies only dictate via premiums so most items really are not dictations but rather decisions made by an owner base on a cost benefit analysis usually at it's simplest form I would guess.

i.e. My premium is this if I do that but that I do not want to do so if I do not do that then am I willing to pay this?

This got me thinking... how do people here feel about places like bars being posted? Is that any different than other businesses? Does the fact that many of the people that go into that establishment do so with the specific intention of... let's say "relieving" themselves of a portion of their good judgment, alter the analysis?

Hmmmm, well that doesn't explain why my homeowners insurance is dropping me for having a LEGAL hobby (not gun related) in my house that they don't approve of.....something about "adverse risk" or some other BS. They wouldn't even consider offering me a rider or increasing my premiums...nope, just dropped me. Now I'm out looking for another insurance company. I do have a lawyer possibly looking into the matter, but right now, he's busy fighting city hall for me. Can you tell I have a mistrust of government, attorneys, banks, and generally any big, powerful group/business that squashes the little guy simply because it can. :badmood:

I am 100% positive I can get you insurance. I am also fairly certain you will not like the rates!

The business part is the problem. If I declare business functions at my home, my homeowner's policy is null and void.

Yeah, that's what I kinda figure. I haven't gone insurance shopping yet since I'm appealing the decision of my company (State Farm) to some sort of insurance board. I got 2 months of coverage left.

Nope - Not everyone drinks at a bar.
