:iagree: Wow! Not pulling any punches there. We need more "angry", yet somewhat polite letters like this sent off to Washington.

Absolutely nothing special about this letter, when you think about it.

At the least, it's better articulated than most are capable of. I understand the point you are making and, yes, many share this outrage. Perhaps you are inviting folks to characterize and comment on the 'special' letter you prepared and posted.

I think he demonstrated strong character and BRAVERY in writing this opinion, giving his address is in Newtown. Not a popular opinion to give at what gun grabbers consider "ground zero" of their new movement to energize their agenda.

Sure there was. No misspellings of any sort. ;-)

However, it does have just enough angst to make it ordinary and ineffective. I do agree with you there. Calling all public servants corrupt isn't going to be effective at all, and is rather demeaning and dismissive of the people who actually *do* try to help out.

It makes us look bad.

I've been seeing a lot the "yer for abortions but hate guns?" argument lately.

Yeah. He also defended water boarding. What the hell? These people exist??

I hate people who are pro Second Amendment and anti Eighth Amendment.

Yeah - he muddies the water too much. There are those who are socially liberal but still own firearms and fully support the 2nd. Its not a right/left issue -- its a freedom issue.

Although I agree that the "fiscal cliff" debacle should be dealt with prior to ANY discussion on "guns".

I think context is important. This is a Newtown resident, his angst, anger, whatever you want to call it, is more poignant, and less ordinary at this time and in this context than that of those further removed.

Do I agree with what he said writ large? No, I happen to believe in a woman's right to freely determine what is best for her.

As for water boarding, I have zero issue with water boarding foreign terrorists.

What exactly hasn't been said better? He was doing OK for the first three paragraphs, and then it's like he falls off a cliff. From then onward it really boils down to "you suck" and some rambling ranting. Linking of guns to abortion makes no sense.

This letter is worse than useless.
