Spoken like a true operator. "Damn the costs, it makes me feel better!"

What's the argument the gun banners use?

If it saves even one life, it's worth it.

That's the same argument gun advocates use. "If it saves even one life, it's worth it."

It's a stupid argument. Just like the people who defend waterboarding with "if it saves even one life."

The many over the few is the better argument always. ;) waterboarding, guns, or otherwise, anything else is illogical and emotional.

You're not new here - this shouldn't be surprising. This group will argue about nearly anything...for nearly any reason...at nearly any time...and generally do it poorly.

Do try to keep up! :)

Don't get me wrong - I'm enjoying the hell out of this! It's even better than watching my 'pro' and 'anti' relatives discuss those scary gun-thingys. :D

The point is, you somehow believe that our constitution applies to enemy combatants. The eighth amendment does not apply.

So, the ends justify the means? If it saves only one life, who cares if it kills thousands of others and costs us countless dollars, amirite?

Hey, we don't have to be the good guys. We just need to be slightly less evil than the bad guys! What a brilliant long term strategy!!!

That is a worthless statement, because it completely depends on how the situation is set up. The answer to that is: it depends. Hardly a code to live by.
