:-(

It's even worse than I thought.
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane

Man the bias doesn't show up anywhere in the hit piece!
I simply cant watch any news media without cringing at the lack of real news or a even handed coverage of any real issue.

Exactly why I no longer bother with them.

Concentrate your efforts on organizing people to bombard the representatives (especially any non-metro districts!) to oppose this legislation. There's no use in writing to the media, they're just lapdogs.

If you're on TV, figure you have about 30 seconds total to make a point, and make each point deliverable in 5 seconds or less. Long-winded explanations about issues won't work, and are better suited to the print media. And it's TV, so appearance is everything. For god's sake, wear a suit and a tie, and practice what you're going to say. If you can find a someone critical of your viewpoint to review your talking points with, so much the better.

A good metaphor would be the cooking spots they do on the weekend. The chefs that appear on them know they have to show up with all the ingredients prepared and in distinct containers that are easy to film (low, clear bowls). And each stage of a meal has to have a pre-cooked version to show on the camera, as well as a finished version of the meal. It doesn't have to taste or smell good, but it has to LOOK good.

I really wish the folks on our side would think about hiring a media consultant. I know we'd all rather spend the money on taking people to a range or safety stuff, but we're trying to make a good first impression. People will judge your expertise on issues by how well you prepare, especially your appearance.

The bias was clear to me long ago.

That proves the DFL has the Technology and Organizationalskills already in place, in even more so in this state!! Clearly the local media is in the Tank, The only thing you hear on the local 10's is metal health issues... nothing else. Im so sick of seeing Hennipen county sherriff talking about how he talked with the President and then dodge the question! I believe it was on Fox 9 that someone said that most of the murders involved cheap pistols, well lets ban Highpoints and see zero crime in Muderapolis, but murders are already down 40+% since 2006.

Don't give them any ideas. I have two wonderful highpoints in the 40 & 45 flavors. :D
