There are plenty of places in any major city where you do not dare walk. Take a ride thru N mpls and tell me you wouldn't worry for your personal safety!

Seems like a generality. Most crime in N MPLS is race on race. That is true in general around tr country.

More accurately stated Mpls, St Louis, Chicago, Detroit, DC, Houston, etc, etc , and virtually every large urban area in the gun violence is black on black.
To suggest that anyone else is reasonably safe in these areas because their ethnicity is other than that of the majority of the victims... well I guess I'll just say: you first...

I have no problem. Used to bike from south mpls to St. Paul 5 days a week. No one ever bothered me. Used to work at a community center on broadway as well. Maybe it's because I'm 6'7" 230lbs

You fear of "urban people" sounds similar to others fear of guns.

I'm 50 something and anyone who says that they haven't seen a steady and profound moral decay in this country over those years is not paying attention.

"South MPLS is an area that includes both the house 2 blks S of I94 where I was attacked by a rottweiller as well as walter mondale's Lake of the Isles mansion. I was much more comfortable in one than the other.

I agree and Im 40 something. The 3 neighborhoods I lived in in the last 40 years (small town) have all gone downhill in one way or the other. Most are from foreclosed houses picked up by people who do not fix them up, they just get worse.

That's a few blocks s of the worst part of Chicago Ave. Down to about 36th a lot of people don't have furniture in their front rooms because it's safer to sit on the floor.
That practice became common after the shooting of 10 yr old Tyesha Edwards killed while doing homework, sitting at a table inside a house on the 33xx- 34xx blk of Chicago Av s.
The bullet that stuck her was an errant round from some gang bangers' shootout.

That whole four/five blocks are not the best. My sis in law used to live on 37th. It's good that they installed some cameras in the area a few years ago

GDP per capita is higher because the working class is shrinking.
Donald Trump got more fat women moving in one day than Michelle Obama did in eight years.

I... it's... I mean...

What?

I have to ask...what is your level of education? Because I don't know exactly when you learn what per capita means, but I assure you it has nothing to do with the working class.

THAT right there is proof of the social decay of this country...when you NEED cameras to spy on the public and POSSIBLY identify the bad guys AFTER a shooting goes down. When we have cameras on every light post and quiet drones flying overhead to spy on the public (not everywhere...yet)....proof that the government wants/needs to keep tabs on everybody....THAT is social decay. The fact that general trust and the good of the common man is no longer the norm....THAT is social decay.

Well you might want to get off the Internet because people can see what you're doing on here too.

No, it isn't.

Bad things have always happened. They just happen to be happening less these days than in the past.

Placing cameras to record bad things isn't social decay. It's technological progress.
