Gun safe??

I have an oppurtunity to get one of these at an extremely low price. Has anybody used one of these for long guns? I currently have no safe and have just started my collection and am on a limited budget. I plan to upgrade as my collection becomes more valuable. Thank you in advance.

How extremely low a price? If you plan to upgrade, save the money you will spend one this little safe and get a real safe now. You will be happy you did. Besides, any punk could carry that right out your house. I procrastinated too long to get mine but when I did I spent the $ and got a good sized one. You get what you pay for. There is another thread regarding safes this forum. Good luck.

Safe you're thinking of is shown at 2:25

I'd save your money, there are better safes that are slightly more expensive. Then again if you think you need it, get it cheap and upgrade when you can.

While I agree you get what you pay for. there is almost always somebody home and currently my guns are in a pad locked closet so keeping them secure from teenagers is important today(thus this is better than that until i save). I think i can get around 200$

For $200 bucks it's better than a closet. You can even put it in the locked closet for increased security.

I got a Liberty safe at Menards before they started stocking the cheaper Stack On Safes. I asked to see the interior and they told me to make them an offer, so as usually I made a smart remark, and to my surprise they accepted it. :o

Even at the great price point you might want to consider it's not that secure.

My first safe was in that price/size range.... wasnt much of a safe but it makes a great ammo storage locker now. At that price point it is easy enoogh to move you could get alot of your money back out of it when you decide to upgrade. But I will warn you, buying a safe is like building a garage, you can never have to much space!

Yes people have used them for long guns... On the ammo storage, generally you don't want to encase ammo, powder, or explosives in a steel locker or safe. Basically you're making a large pipe bomb.

Just stopped in a Safe&knife in Rogers. Safes have been flying off the shelf there, too!
