Safe

Postby Punisher102 on Sun Feb 24, 2013 9:33 pm

another safe question, but I didnt want to hijack the other thread.

After you upgraded to a bigger better safe, what did ya do with your old one? Anyone have one just sitting there wasting space?

I need a safe, but dont have hundreds or thousands of dollars to spend on one. I really want something more secure than the stack on offered at fleet farm this week for 89 bucks.

Whatcha got and whatcha looking to get for it? PM me or if your comfortable, post pics with info.

Keep an eye out on Craigslist. Safes are a little more rare to find on there than, say, free tube tvs.... But I've seen them posted on occasion that are pretty good deals. How big of a safe are you looking for and whats your price range?

My plan is to stock it with some new shelves, thousands of rounds of ammunition, primers and powder...YMMV.

I did take a peek at CL as I just sold a junker on there. But didnt see much. I'll keep an eye on it.

I want to get the smallest rifle safe I can get that is truly a safe and not a keyed cabinet. Ive seen the videos, and while trying to keep the bad guys out, a thief is gonna get your stuff. I would prefer an electronic lock, but beggars cant be choosey. Price range I would say around a couple hundred bucks.

8 gun? What's your price range? Is a stack-on 8 gun fS series good enough? Or even there SS series?

Last year about this time CL had at least 10 great safes for sale at the same time. I notice now it's not that way.

If you're not in a hurry, keep your eyes open that way. Just make sure to pay cash and don't drive your own truck to pick it up.

Yes the FS or the SS series from Stack on would work. I'm looking at a couple hundred bucks.

If you don't have rifles, or if you just want to get a good safe for ammo and pistols, look into something like this:

MSRP is $4,000. I could sell it for $2,500 (got it free). They aren't cheap, but they are worth it. The post link has further details.
