Don't give your PTC card up with your license either. You weren't asked for it, so why present it? This is one of those times that....

I'd recommend carrying using "the deep butt crack" method. Then thank the officer if he relieves you of your gun while itching your butt and saying it was getting kinda scratchy back there.

I think that there are some people who believe that the DL and PTC combo will result in no charges or a warning. Sort of a get out of jail free card.

I believe this to be the case every time someone posts up, "pulled over while carrying..."

I have met more than a few cops that are NOT gun guys.

Cop comes to window and asks for license and proof of insurance. Why would anyone EVER hand them over their Permit to Carry? Why not just hand them over a coupon for a free dozen at Doughnut Connection?

Sounds silly right? It's just as relevant, or in this case, irrelevant.

Best advice is try not to get pulled over. You should know when your headlights are out, driving in the dark behind a car you should able to see if you have one or two healamps on. On the other hand some people drive w/out headlamps on at night

I think at that point you'll be pulled over for tailgating.

I've had (nearly) that conversation with an officer before, except instead of "you didn't ask", my reply was "the law doesn't require me to do so until you ask". He said something about calling in to confirm that, I sat there for a couple more minutes then he came back and told me to have a good night.

As with all anecdotes, the above doesn't mean anything beyond that single interaction. Just pointing out that the example given isn't one that is necessarily bad...

I drive my car darked out with night vision. You avoid most of the police, and people don't slow down when you're following them. If the cops do see you, just act like you car lost power and when you restart your engine all the lights magically work!

Generally your carry permit is never brought up or discussed in stops like this. Trust me, I have experience!

This. But you need a center console with room for your night vision goggles as well as your drink.

You can fill the windshield washer reservoir with your drink of choice and pipe the spray nozzles through the firewall into the cabin. You will not be able to clean your windshield, but I don't think that will matter much if you choose to make this modification.

These ideas are ludicrous! Without a reliable source of ice, you are left with engine temperature spirits. Until you address the Rolls Royce style ice box installation, this is a waste of time. Who is going to drink a 180 degree Vesper???

I've never tested the theory and I don't plan to anytime soon. I subscribe to the thought that less is more and unless I'm asked to step from the vehicle or somehow the weapon would otherwise be discovered.

The police are not your friend even if they're helping you. They're kinda like the Russians in WWII.
