Best advice is try not to get pulled over. You should know when your headlights are out, driving in the dark behind a car you should able to see if you have one or two healamps on. On the other hand some people drive w/out headlamps on at night

I drive my car darked out with night vision. You avoid most of the police, and people don't slow down when you're following them. If the cops do see you, just act like you car lost power and when you restart your engine all the lights magically work!
Generally your carry permit is never brought up or discussed in stops like this. Trust me, I have experience!

Or you could mount a second pump and reservoir under the hood and run it from a momentary switch mounted within easy reach under the dash. Not that I've ever actually seen such an absurd thing done much less participated in the installation...

I've never tested the theory and I don't plan to anytime soon. I subscribe to the thought that less is more and unless I'm asked to step from the vehicle or somehow the weapon would otherwise be discovered.
