Uh, used clothes at thrift stores only sell for $3-4 a shirt/pant.

I had 8 sets when I got out. Still probably have 4 of them in a duffel somewhere.

Have you checked Sportsman's Guide? They frequently run sales on military surplus and military "style" clothes online, and have quite a bit at their outlet store too, although sizes are all over the place.

Hey guys, saw the link there.. thanks for the shout out. I know this topic is a little old, but thought I would throw out that we are doing a give-away on some Propper tactical wear. The Lightweight Tactical Pants we're giving away are sort of a modern style of BDU geared towards police and everyday wear. They're lightweight but very durable. Just visit our website for details. It is the last day to get in on it, but keep your eyes open... we're hoping to do more such give-aways with all sorts of gear coming up.

And WMWP: I can't speak to the specifics of the gear you brought in... but our buyer has a lot of factors he has to take in to account from condition of items, how long we'll potentially sit on something before it sells, the cost of just having it take up rack space, etc. And we don't cherry pick items, so we often take in items we know we have no market for because they were brought in with items we think there is a good chance they'll sell. We also offer up to 50% more if you get in store credit vs cash. I realize it probably doesn't make the offer sound any better, but hopefully you can understand a bit about where we're coming from.

I've never gotten/expected big money back on clothing items sold at any consignment store (often more like a private donation for a small tip), though for us it's usually baby-kids clothes at a "once upon..." store or books/CD's/movies at Half-Price, etc... It's the nature of the business, dumping the stuff off at a shop puts all the risk on them and the prices paid reflect this. You'll make more on a garage sale (which isn't saying much) or possibly eBay but there's more effort/hassle involved sorting/pricing and selling individual items.

Anyway, as others have stated - CC is a good source locally... I've had some luck at gun shows and on eBay as well.
