Now you need to get Tony to one of our 3gun matches.

He used to shoot 3-gun with us a little.

I stayed out of this thread until I had a chance to watch the DVR.

Good job Tony!
Yeah, but I shoot with THIS hand.

It would be very much appreciated if you folks don't take this thread off the topic and turn it into crap.

I've been a "guest reader" on this forum since about 2005, actually joined as a member in 2010, but only recently did I start posting. I try to avoid controversies and only post about events that are not too controversial. And I do know how some people are around here, and the nature of forums that allows people to be anonymous thus giving them more guts to say things they normally wouldn't. That is the reason I try to to be on here too much. I really only use this forum to be in contact with people about the shooting sports.

I'm just respectfully requesting folks to have a little decency and not try to take this thread into a seperate topic. If they want to debate an issue, they can start their own thread instead. I started this thread to recognize Tony, whom many of us know, in his accomplishments. Not debate about other things not related to him.

Tony is the one who got me started in 3-Gun and I've been trying to get him to get back into it, as long as he stays out of my division.

Now it sounds like Tony could be out of a job? Or re-assinged? That's a kick in the pants for someone who just won a lot of money for the department as a whole!

Not out of the job, but maybe re-assigned. He will still be in SWAT, but the department is planning on disbanding the Special Operations Division in which SWAT is under and re-assigning the cops to the precincts. What that means for Tony and other SWAT Officers assinged to the SOD is that they will still be in SWAT, but no longer in a city-wide directed patrol function when not on SWAT duty. The department is really not cutting anything or saving money, just re-assigning more officers to what it believes to be a priority.

Funny thing is that as I write this, MPD has another shooting turned stand-off at this very moment. SWAT members began arriving on scene in less than 10 minutes. This is the second stand-off this month with armed suspects shooting their guns.

Tony's specialty has always been in SWAT and firearms training. That is his passion, and that makes him very good at what he does. His service on the MPD SWAT will always be valued as he is a respected leader and trainer. Quite a few of us here in this forum have been trained by Tony who also teaches civilian courses. A few of us have shot competitions with him. Everyone of us who have done those can speak first hand of his skills. I was priviledged of having Tony as my mentor during my time in SWAT, and my coach in competitive shooting. Tony is the best there is, and I'm glad he got to prove it on national tv. Let politics fall as they may. This is Tony's shining moment.
