I've got big jars of 22lr that I paid .03 each for....(3 cents / free...not much difference) I guess in a year I could replace them with rounds purchased on sale at .06

You have big glass jars full of RIMFIRE ammo?? You know there's a substantial difference in instantaneous G force and also compressive load between a cardboard box brick of ammo hitting the floor, and a glass jar with several brick's worth of loose ammo in it...

Murphy's Law alone dictates that the forces of entropy will make one of these jars hit the floor, and if nothing else you will discover how HUGE of a PITA it is to clean all the broken glass shards out of a few thousand rounds of 22 LR ammo...
