Cheaper than Dirt needs to go away! I still receive their catalogue even though I asked to be removed from their mailing list after the first post panic gouging episode they tried. That being said, they don't list prices for 99% of their ammo because they need to adjust their gouging prices daily and see what the market will bear!!!!!!!!!

I liked them a lot better when the bulk of their revenue came from inexpensive battle rifle surplus that enabled a lot of folks to restore or build their 922 compliant imports. "Now they're a monster that will not obey".

That is so ridiculous even for them that I hope it's a misprint. I hope that people will remember their "sales" after the prices implode.

Wow, I just got 900 rounds for $320. That is under $20/box from ammotogo.com. Quick shipping and smooth transaction.

FYI did you know you can preorder any ammo at FF. And thats at the regular price. Im ordreing federal .22 at 18.99 for a 525 box.
That beats the 50.00 for them on line any day.

For 45? $20 is a lot for 9mm ammo.

How does one do that? Just stop at the ammo counter and ask to reserve? Then when it comes in they call you?

It's probably not a good idea to advertise this info……just gives the gougers another source for grabbing ammo.

If resellers want to wait weeks for one brick of ammo, let them....

MY guess is the OP is on the list....

Weeks? Heck yeah! I'd wait weeks since I've been waiting MONTHS for .22LR from Cabella's. I ordered it on 01/07/2013 and they are supposed to get it 04/25/2013 (of course they said that they were supposed to get it back in Feb too), so here I am 86 days later, 4 days shy of 3 months (90 days) on April 7th, still waiting..... so if I can wait weeks and I'll get the ammo faster, I can wait and prepay for it, only this time I won't order 5,250, I'll order 25k. If I pre-order it, I'll for sure get it and faster than I will online if you can even find it there?

I ordered 1000 rounds of 45 from Ventura Munitions 1/23. Was supposed to ship about 3 weeks later. Every time I contact them they push it out another 3 weeks, now I am looking at the end of April. I am going to quit calling them....lol. A little miffed that they charged my card right away, but if I get it it's all good.

Been watching gunbot.net like a hawk the last couple weeks, for 45 ACP. Just looking for your run of the mill 230gr FMJ. If it shows up there over .60 per round it doesn't seem to sell. Between 50 and 60 it takes a number of hours, maybe days to sell. Mid 40's maybe an hour. Low 40's in minutes. Anything under .40 is GONE before you can even add it to your cart and fill in your shipping/CC info. I "got lucky" and picked up 500 rounds of Silver bear for .37 a round, and another 20 to ship. Could get that same crap late last year for less than .30 a round

Don't think the panic is over just yet.

I agree.

Pre-panic prices I've found at WalMart:
.25 = GREAT!
.30 - .35 = Average
.40 = High

After the panic started, I bought online at .45 a round for .45ACP, and I won't pay a cent more than that, so I'll wait for it to drop back down to the normal prices once again.

As soon as the profit margin for resellers goes down enough that they can't make a guaranteed profit after taxes, gasoline, time&effort, gunbroker fees, etc. availability for the average person should improve.
Yet another wallyworld guy told me that the same 3-4 guys are there almost every time he puts ammo in cabinet and they buy all or most of the few boxes he receives.

I can almost guarantee you that the resellers/hoarders are not taking into account their time and gas they spend chasing after ammo. I doubt they are actually making all that much money, if any.

I suppose if they are unemployed or work for minimum wage they MIGHT make a little bit of money, but it's going to be very little if anything at all. Not enough ROI for time and money.
