All we need is a semi truck, an open road, some plutonium and a flux capacitor.

In 2003, I was making 8% less an hour than today, so its not soaring wages that produced the difference. Actually my wages lost ground the past 10 years as the cost of living sure has gone up a lot more than 8% overall. :|

Wait two more years all you need will be a banana peel and a beer to power the flux capacitor. Go back to 2004 buy a crap load of ARs and ammo and drop off on your front porch Nov. 2012.

Just my .02 , I never look back, only forward. Planning for the future has brought much more success than looking back or wishing for the good old days

My first new car was $2600 but that has zero relevance today.

I just remember FAC as the masters of bait and switch. Buddy of mine went down there the morning their catalog came out. Got there just after they opened.

"Any of those Imbel FAL receivers that are in todays catalog?"

"Nope, all out"

"Any of the Argentine Hi Powers?"

"Nope, sold out but we have some 1911 'style' pistols for sale"...

Uh.. how the Hell were they sold out of all the good stuff when we got there just after they opened with a new catalog that had just come out?

I was smart enough to grab a few of those deals. Money in the bank now. But wow, imagine what our shooting lifestyles would be like today if we could still get those prices. The catalog is like my bucket list for firearms.

FAC wasn't known for their customer service. You had to get past the women in the front office first. I spent quite a lot when they were liquidating their inventory just prior to their closing. :D

I miss that place, I bought two of them Cetme packages and one Hesse Arms A2 AR15, I sold both Cetmes two years ago for $500 each, the Hesse arms I got screwed on a sale by a decietful now former forum member because no one wanted that Hesse Arms AR. Now I could sell it three fold what I paid for it and three of them too.

Buying and selling is all about timing. I don't hesitate on a really good deal. Sometimes that leads to a financial struggle for a while. But when your feeling froggy, Jump! When bulk ammo deals come down the pike, I stock up for the long haul. It looks like it's going to be like that for a while.
