Holy moly. I have about $100 in 22lr that I could probably sell right now and buy one hell of a nice scope for my Colt.

Buddy, driving back from Florida a couple weeks ago, pulled into a GS in Tennessee and a brick of 500 .22LR he said were $69-$79 a piece................... :?

Hell, I've got around 300 rnds AND a 1964 Browning takedown semi-auto I'll sell for around a grand. :)

It was $60.00 a brick at the last MWCA show.

I picked up a brick of Blazer at FF for $18.99 a couple of weeks ago.

$175 for 500 Remington! This is crazy...I bet they don't sell at that price...I don't care if it is "match" ammo...

I'm not familiar with that particular round, but their description seems to imply that it is rebranded Eley Tenex. If that's the case, the price is actually pretty good. Tenex was generally in the neighborhood of $1650-$1800/case last year and has not been affected too much by the panic. This is not ammo to shoot cans with out of a 10/22 or for XDM45 to blow through 600 rounds with at BPR in his 22/45.

If its not Tenex, then I withdraw my comments...

This match grade load features Eley’s innovative Tenex EPS-profile bullet—ideal for aspiring top class shooters and training at the highest level.

I think you are right...but I'm still not buying at that price...LOL

I was just combing through some online rimfire ammo suppliers. Most are flatass empty/ OOS.
Graf & Sons does have the Remington Eley for $17.89/ box of 50

I stopped in at Oakdale Fleet Farm Monday afternoon and the girl behind the gun counter was fondling a 550 rnd box of .22 lr. She was telling another employee that some idiot manager had just allowed someone to return it. I asked what she was going to do with it and she said it was going back on the shelf. I told her no it wasn't and took it from her hands. 550 rnds for $23. Not a bad score.

You sure can't beat that saying... "in the right place at the right time"...

I saw 2 boxes of 50 in the last week for 12.99/box. .26/round. Not as bad as i've seen, but still crazy! I remember being a kid and over at my cousins, my uncle would just give us boxes of 22 ammo to sit and shoot cans, and squirrels, and rabbits just to keep us busy outside. And my cousins and i would go thru a brick of it every weekend easily. Probably cost him 10-15 dollars back then to keep us entertained all weekend. Thank God that there wasn't ammo shortages back then! That old Remington bolt action 22 that dad bought at the local Coast to Coast store got plenty of use! My cousins all had single shots. So i was the lucky one. We would walk the woods and grass at my uncles over and over, constantly to eradicate the rabbits and squirrels. Dang kids! :D

That reminds me of when I was a kid and going to Kmart and Holiday and seeing a 500 round box for 8.99 and that was in the late 60's and eraly 70's and it seemed to stay at that price for at least 10 years. The price never went up.

After the '08 shortage, alot of people learned this valuable lesson . . . buy it cheap, stack it deep.
