Shooting Class Recommendation

Postby Erik508 on Wed Apr 24, 2013 2:45 pm

I'm looking for a bullseye style instructional shooting class. Anyone have a recommendation on a local place? Preferably on the south side of the cities but I could probably travel a bit if needed.

Shooting Class Recommendation

Postby plblark on Wed Apr 24, 2013 3:31 pm

NRA bullseye pistol competition?

Git this from OGC:

There will be a FREE first time shooter's clinic in the classroom at the club this Saturday, April 27th. Lecture starts at 9:00. (However, range set-up and preparations start at 8:00.)

There will be a brief lecture session. Following that we'll allow the "students" to shoot a 40-round course of fire free at the match that will be underway all day.

During the lecture you will learn about:

Firing line range commands
Safety
Shooting positions
Gun categories
Range etiquette
Targets and distances
Course of fire
Match sign-up and participation
Use of a coach or spotter

If you are considering coming, please send a short e-mail to achesontom@hotmail.com

Hope to see you there!

I think I want to work towards competing in a bullseye/conventional pistol match, or something along those lines. I'm not familiar with Appleseed events- can you point me to some information on it?

That sounds great. I'm not sure what OGC is- oakdale gun club? Either way, I sent an e-mail, thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the link- looks like an interesting project.

Turns out the class at OGC this Saturday is actually for silhouette shooting.

Still looking for instructor/class recommendations if anyone has one.
