Officer Lappegaard was fired for that 2009 incident. The city declined to defend him at their expense.

What you talking about? That story is from last year not 2009 :?

You're right. I was quoting the wrong video. For some reason this is the video from LiveLeak that came up for me

I wonder if the investigation is closed.

Let her tell her story in any case. It's therapeutic.

I wonder if they have accounted for all of her stray bullets (she fired a full magazine, the shooter had 9 bullets in his body). I wonder if the shooter's family has retained an attorney and might be contemplating civil action.

Silly as that concept might be, a police officer doing an impromptu shock-jock radio interview with a bunch of douchebags who keep carping on how "hot" she is, about a fatal police action, as interestesting and "therapeutic" as it might be, just feels a little ... unseemly. Perhaps a sit-down interview with a local news anchor would feel more professional to me.

Civil action? Really?

On what grounds would they sue?

Are they going to ask for damagesxl because she missed some of her shots after he mangled her hand in his attempt to murder her?

All I can say is, "Not today!"

Unprofessional venue for such an interview and IMHO unwise to do it at all. That's my opinion. Yours may be different. I will say that she otherwise acquitted herself well in the interview and IMHO represented police officers well.
