Another Gouger Mtn thread.

Postby Lights on Sat May 11, 2013 1:07 pm

Last week when I was bored and walking through the Woodbury GM. I seen a guy buying a new 45acp. When he asked what ammo they had. The sales person brought out a WWB 100 value pack and a Remington 50 round pack. The guy asked what they cost. The WWB was $64.99  and the Remington box was $30.99   . Wow the guy said you can keep them. Yesterday I was at FF in Hudson and the same WWB value pack was only $39.99 . That is why I love the mans mall.

From what I've seen GM does have the highest prices on ammo. That's why they have ammo when FF has almost none.

GM's in-store gun prices are better than Cabelas on the guns I've looked at.

I've had my gripes about Gouger but I will say that a young fellow there DID fix my scope at N/C. Spent a good half hour on it. Had to drill out one of the mounting screws. The Rodent Genius used red loctite on it and then tried to remove it, thus stripping the glued in end of the bolt. I could fault them for the design but red loctite was my fault.

As far as I've seen GM is consistently higher priced on EVERYTHING. But their ammo is the most ridiculously overpriced

Really JJ? I hope your not talking to me. I asked to "please" stay on topic. I did not say hey @SShole stay on topic. Do you have a problem with me asking to "please" stay on topic? Do I really deserve a GFY from you and a "rude noob" from 45badger? I did not mean any disrespect to thunderjohn by asking to "please" stay on topic.

Some people here seem to think the rules do not apply to them.

So I can help you learn how to abuse the rules in the Market Place.

GM is terrible on their ammo prices, but the guns have acceptable prices IF you find what you want.

So back to your posting, I am very curious as to how much ammo they actually hold back behind the counter.

Word is they are holding 1000 round packs of 9mm for the people buying guns. Buy a 9mm and get the 1000 bulk for $250

Gander is out of control on pricing both ammo and guns. BUT they will price match on guns. I made a mistake of buying my first gun from them, then found the same gun the next day for about a third less, and they did price match for me.

Since then I have learnd my lesson. In my opinion the best prices I have ever found on new guns are at Joe's sporting goods. And I have had excellent customer service with them. Very nice and helpful.

I've also had great service with Frontiersman too.

And I've found some superb deals on used guns at the Cabelas in owatonna.

Yeah, while I was there having my scope looked at, I asked about 22lr ammo. Of course I knew they didn't have any. But they did bring out 3 boxes of 100 CCI for a guy buying a gun. Guess I really can't terribly fault them. If they didn't do that they'd lose sales of firearms. Wonder what the buyer will do after he shoots the 300 rounds.
