Great post Sam, if your model 1 50GI is a glock, then I guess my model 3 50GI is a baby glock :D Unfortunately I haven't shot mine in 3 weeks since breaking my collar bone. No way I can rack the slide with the 25lb recoil spring, but it is a great firearm.

Lots of them have safeties and external hammers too.

Plus, you have to rack the slide every time you unholster.

Sam...we need a side pic. I don't mind looking down the barrel (online only), but I wanna see the whole picture.

The side pic is pretty much meaningless, as this gun is so pure 1911 that the ONLY way to tell it apart from any 1911 45 is by looking down the barrel....

As for the 50 GI, the correct follow up to asking if it was a Glock is... is it a 9mm?

True, it just a copy of the VP70, but Anton did improve the trigger a bit!

eh? The XDm is a licensed version (or "copy" if you will) of the HS2000, not a Glock. Both have polymer frames, but so do a lot of guns these days.

So, in other words, the Zune to everyone's Ipod. hipsters love Zunes, even if they are more difficult to use(maintain in the case of the XD) not as easy to get accessories and support for, and when you do find cool stuff for em, it costs you more

lol, that's what I was gonna say,..if the Glock is the iProduct the XD series is something like a zune or one of those ipad wannabees.

Had it been a little bigger she would likely have asked you if it was an AK!

I would rename this thread "Another reason to carry a Glock".
"Go 20mm" - Sigfan220
""Real men shoot 20mm." - FJ540

Makes me feel a little inadequate. I'd be thrilled if somebody saw the butt end of my hipoint sticking out of my belt and accused it of being a Glock.
