Yep! Not even that hard, really. It's an easy gun to work on.

Oh, and Dorian, I've been meaning to get a P9 for a while now. Any suggestions on where to get one in excellent condition? Just the standard model.

And since we're posting pics of rifles, I picked this up, as well as the optic, yesterday:

Ron,

Nope. Are you asking because of the controls or the port above the magazine?

The current trend in battle rifles these days is to put most of the controls (including the forward assist and operating handle) on the left so that you don't have to transfer hands or relax your shooting hand grip. You probably already knew that...

The plug above the magazine is removable and the hole it covers becomes the ejection port if you do want to shoot it left-handed. Very nice feature!

David,

Yes I was looking at the controls and the port, I wasn't aware of the trend, thanks I learned something new.

Nice STG 556 David how are you liking it so far?
I picked up a Limited Edition Black like this last year.

As far as finding a P9s I have a few ideals.
Oh & I would recommend a target model over the combat every time, but that will take some shopping to find one.
We should get together & shoot some time; I have wanted a Sig 210 for awhile now.
Why don't you bring your 210 & I'll bring the P9 out.
It would be cool to shoot them side be side to compare & take notes.

Dorian,

I looked around for the special edition kit, in green, but no one seemed to have one. I heard they were sold pretty quickly. If I run into one sometime I think I'll get it and just put it in the closet.

And shooting sounds like a great idea! I'd love to try out one of your P9s, as I've never shot one. Since you're an HK kind of guy, do you have a VP70? I kind of want one of those as well, just to round-out the collection. Oh, and if you don't have an HK4, I can bring mine, with the whole kit in four calibers. You've probably got one though...

PM sent regarding shooting.

The STG-556 only requires a left-handed bolt to complete the conversion ( ~ $175)

This is my AR that I would like too (eventually maybe) shoot service rifle matches with. It's a RRA NM Upper on a Bushmaster lower. It is set up with the cheekpiece and the scope for developing a load which I hope I can get done before winter hits

I just got a new 10 megapixel SLR-like digital camera so be on the lookout for semi-professional, high-resolution pics of not-so-exotic guns!

David, I meant to ask at the last steel shoot. What the hell do you do for a living? It seems like your yearly gun budget is probably $10k+.

I own a very small, 12-person consulting company. I don't know that I do better than anyone else; really, it all just comes down to priorities. I live in a (large) cardboard box under a bridge, so I have more money for guns and vintage guitars. Sell your house and car, and stay off the pipe, and it's amazing how much extra you have every month!

I figured you were an entrepreneur of some kind. What kind of consulting do you do? Do you have a family? Too personal? Feel free to tell me to STFU. ;)

It's not too personal, but I'm guessing the rest of the gang would rather look at gun pics than talk about boring stuff like that. PM sent.
