Best issuing Sheriff for non-resident PTC?

Postby EJSG19 on Tue Aug 13, 2013 4:11 pm

Well, I forgot all about it, and my old MN Permit has expired. I now live in Iowa for those who don't know, and have since 2010. Upon moving, we were told by hennepin county that the current permits we had would suffice, etc...

Anyway, now that I have an expired/useless permit, am just wondering what MN county has the best sheriff's department when it comes to issuing permits in a timely, hassle free fashion?

Preferably one along the I-35 corridor would be best, as that is where I get too most when we travel to visit friends in the cities.

As for the other obvious question, is there any option for out of state training classes that meet MN standards for permit issuing? Otherwise, if I need to be present in class in person, which I assume I do, which one of you poor SOB's wants to give me a class? (The more strongly you use the word "give" the better, but don't you dare short me on the legal stuff!)

Dodge County turn around time is about 5 days. I will be holding a class in Dodge Center this Saturday, you could take the class and drive 3 minutes and apply all in the same day. Precisionplusfirearms.com

Dodge county does seem to be quick about issuing permits. Coworker from there got his in about 5 days, but all of us in Olmstead county took the full month to get ours.

The town Dodge Center is about 30 minutes east from I35.
