But if someone suspects, it could cost someone their job. That whole "at will" thing can bite pretty hard.

One reason I like my .380 is that I can't tell if it's in my pocket and no one else can either. Still my favorite gun due to it's stealth qualities.

Employees can't. The public can in non-backroom areas whatever that is. LEO down the hall can of course.

At my place of work it is totally forbidden. Nobody, including law enforcement
officers may carry (unless TSHTF). We do have a set of lockboxes at the door
to store any items before you enter.

My place had a no weapons on property till another emp went to HR and showed them the statute on parking lots. They changed the handbook.. So now we can leave them in the car without getting in trouble, but we still cant bring them into the building..

This subject came up at a mgt meeting today. I don't get to go to those meetings, thankfully. Someone made a reference to having a gun in his "bag" but his bag was in his car. Someone chirped up that that is not allowed. I keep a copy of the statute in my briefcase. I may need to read it to the corp lawyer someday, and I will if necessary.

Nothing posted at my work, but this is in the Employee Handbook:
Employees may also be disciplined or terminated for misconduct, including, but not limited to the following:
- possessing, entering with or using weapons on company property"
- ...

3 members of top management here carry concealed daily. We have a very small turnover rate but when someone leaves, they've usually been dismissed. It's often not pretty. Should SHTF, myself and two others should have it covered.

Our handbook states weapons are not allowed in the building, but the handbook is also prefaced with, "This document applies to all hourly employees."

We're not 'hourly'.

Our hourly employees are aware that one or more people in mgmt are typically carrying as a security measure and they're all fine with that. The knowledge of that itself may prevent a disgruntled employee from returning with malicious intent.

They make us sign an acknowledgement sheet every time they change it, so it definitely applies to me.

Company policy here states no weapons, even in the parking lots.

I wanted to mention the illegality of that part but I just started here and didn't think it would be a good idea to rock the boat at this time.

Oddly, the company also offers discounts from several gun manufacturers and employees frequently post for sale ads on the company bulletin board.

My work just changed ownership but they plan on keeping all old policies in place...

For me, State law says I cannot on grounds or have firearms in my vehicle.

Then again, with where I work, its probably better for all concerned that way.

Probably would have been shorter to ask "Does anyone's place of work ALLOW employees to carry?" :) Mine doesn't and as soon as the law changed on carry they were very prompt in making clear in no uncertain terms that guns were not allowed in the building or in the parking lot (including vehicles) . They also put up a sign immediately. I simply replied to the head of HR that they couldn't preclude someone from carrying in the parking lot or having a gun in their car per state law. Normally I wouldn't have done this off the cuff as I prefer to fly below the radar whenever possible but I've already been known for pointing it out when management oversteps it's bounds legally. They had a rash of thefts a while back (food from the employee fridge of all things) and made some silly statement about searching people AND their cars if necessary. I had to point out where they actually stood legally on that one as well. I didn't bother however to point out that their "no guns" sign was improper in wording, font size and placement (height).
