Just please, for the love of God, don't anyone buy any ammo from some reseller who made the panic so bad in the first place.

.07/ is a good price for bulk .22? how do you know if someone is a gouger/reseller?

I wasn't talking about specific .22 prices. .22 is still the worst off. I've been able to find some though.

It's easy to tell. By the price.

I picked up a 1000 round federal bulk box of 5.56 at fleet farm a couple weeks ago for 429 and ordered 1000 riunds of 9 from midway for 250 the other week. The trick is jumping on it if and when you see it. I have been monitoring slickguns online as they usually have a good listing of available guns and ammo.

At least a member of this forum is giving us a discount. Bulk packs of Federal .22 for $5.00 cheaper than Armslist. :?

Nice catch tenmilmag!

If you still need 22 try the Gander in Blaine. They still had a ton when I was there Sunday. I picked up ten Federal 325rd tins for $20 each. Almost went back for more. Not the cheapest per round stuff they had but copper and I know my gun likes it. They had some Remington 525rd boxes for only $25. Tons of 9mm too but I held off as it was all around 31 cents a round and my XDS is off for the recall. Would really like to see 9mm below 30 cents a round, preferably lower.

I think the panic is over, the supply of .22 LR is still tight and supply of popular centerfire cartridges like 9mm and .223/5.56 can be sporadic but out there in reasonable quantity if you do the legwork. Guns and magazines are widely available and pretty well priced for the most part, almost pre-panic levels on the AR stuff. I've seen .22, .223 and 5.56 on the shelves in more than on retail store in the past month that had been sold out for months prior, and at sane prices. Reloading supplies also seem to be more widely available and small pistol/rifle primers can actually be found. Most telling, ammo auctions/secondary sale prices have been dropping which will hopefully knock the casual resellers out of the market in the next month or two.

I think we're a way off from $15 bulk packs of .22 and $300 cases of XM193 but sanity is returning to the marketplace.

Its better no doubt but some things are still hard to come by, small rifle primers, various powders, bullets, etc...

Panic over?

I think so... it's still fresh in people's minds so they probably buy the remaining box if they stumble across one. I don't think many are paying $40/box for .22LR anymore though.

Supply still needs to catch up, I think that's the biggest issue right now.

Its catching up but I still here many stories about people hoarding .22 ammo on the other hand I think most of its going to people that actually are going to shoot it and not scalp it or their just restocking their own stash. Once everyone has a good pile we'll start to see it like normal again.

For me I'm still waiting for the prices to come down and stabilize before I fill my stash, you guys can pay the big bux all you want.

Well the story my friend got from Gander Mountain was that they horded too much ammo to sell with guns. So what we see on the shelves right now is some of the "overstock" of that. Also they claimed all new ammo that comes in will be getting put on the shelf until their stash gets significantly lower. Hopefully the minor flood they are unleashing will drop the online resale prices by enough to get people to give up that practice. Have my doubts but I can hope.

Glocks are easier to get but still far from being abundant.
Inventories of S&W revolvers and pistols are still very low and often zero.
Springer 1911's, Ruger DA revolvers are in the same boat.
With the normal fall pick up in business it's going to be interesting to see how everyone will keep up.

I've only been able to get enough ammo to be able to sell to gun buyers.

The panic is over until another crazed psycho goes wild and starts shooting. Then we have to go through the same crap again. Rahmbo Emanuel said to never let a crisis go to waste. The anti gun nuts are waiting for that crisis.
