I seriously doubt it. The anti-gun cultists couldn't possibly have had a better tragedy to exploit for political purposes as the Sandy Hook tragedy. Look at what happened, the majority of states and the federal government were completely impotent to further the gun ban agenda as the people stood up against them. The backlash in those states where gun bans were enacted was significant, and in the case of Colorado some were thrown out of office because of it.
Some people may start hoarding as the result of the Navy yard shooting, but I believe they will be a very small minority. There may be a slight effect on supply, since supply still hasn't fully recovered from the last one, but I don't think it will be very significant.
The hardcore anti-gun cultists will exploit this to try and start another anti-gun wave, but it won't go anywhere. Most politicians are entirely self-serving, and aren't willing to go out on a limb for another attempt at gun bans, given how they were so thoroughly defeated in the last attempt.
The Navy yard shooting wasn't due to a failure of gun control, it was an absolute and complete failure of our government to do their damn jobs.
