That's a frightening and depressing thought;

given that, unless he raped a woman, there is a female of the species that would have to find this… this… this…. attractive, Those combined DNA would be predestined for ...something.

And late reports on the burglary/ shooting suggest that these turds were after the infirm, and elderly gentlemen's pain meds :angryvillagers:

Dateline on the story was 8/21/2009, so it's entirely possible he did his time and got out. However, he was also sentenced to six years of supervised probation, so he should have still been on probation.

We'll never know this but FWIW. I wonder what his post event situation is....he killed a 'Yout'

A scummy yout, but still. It's natural to blame yourself. Plus he has to be 'officially cleared' Sounds like that will be easy.

From now on every noise at night is an air raid siren.

He should get himself a very Barky Beagle to be his early warning system...sounds like he lived alone.

The old man will have 6 months to a year or more "Recovery" time.

Hopefully he has no Remorse.

With a name like "Gypsy" and the knucklehead parents who would give him that name, this kid was doomed to fail from the start. Born to be bad. Hopefully someone will update his Facebook page and let his Facebook friends know that he is a dead bad ass.

It wasn't his first offense but it was his last.

His sister, Precious, is now claiming he broke in to steal cancer meds that his insurance wouldn't cover. Classy folks.

my name is Gypsy watts and i am an ex-coni spent four years in a maximum security state prison for multiple counts of armed robbery where i spent most of my time writing poetry,short stories,some songs and one letter to the president who didn't write me back no surprise there. i am currently on probation and will be for the next six years. i am trying real hard to get my life back on track and considering that the only job i ever had was being a carny and that i have felonies it seems like it is impossible to get a job. so i started typing hoping i would sell enough books to pay fines and fees and stay out of trouble while i look for a job a portion of my sales will help a homeless man get back home and to feed children right here in the united states

Obama's fault. Again.

No, he DIDN'T kill a 'yout'. The deceased was 19 when he went to prison in 2009. Add the four years between then and now, and that makes (made?) him 23.

Just a guess: Same delightful human being, but one of the news reports is wrong about his age.

Also noteworthy: Dresses like 1940s gangster, has straight and gay porn on his Facebook page.

I take comfort from the fact that, no matter what horrible thing I might ever do and be arrested for, I can never wind up in a jail cell with this guy, thanks to an armed citizen. That alone shows the value of the Second Amendment.

I feel sorry for the shooter. Even thou legally he was in the right, he still has to deal with killing a person. I hope he can handle that ok. A burden I wish on nobody.

Hopefully the guy can live out his last days comfortably. He should be given an award for taking a worthless piece of **** off the streets. How dare the county attorney even think of reviewing the case.

Want to put a face with the event:

23-year-old Gypsy Watt is dead, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested, then charged with burglary and assault on Friday. A cancer patient is shaken up after the two broke into his Pine County farmhouse around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the men, who were just out of jail, when they broke into 75-year-old Charles Carlson's home, on Fox Road near Sandstone. Both men have long criminal histories, and one had a gun.

Carlson struggled with the intruder and managed to grab his own gun. He shot one of the intruders, Watts, who died at the scene.

Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole tells KSTP that Watts, along with the teen, went to Carlson's farm to steal his painkillers that he takes for pain associated with his terminal cancer.
===============================edit==============================================

Carlson is cooperating with investigators and is not likely to face legal consequences. The Sheriff says the shooting is believed to be a justified use of force.

The County Attorney will review the case to see if it fits the "Castle Doctrine". It's law in several states, including Wisconsin. It allows homeowners to use deadly force against uninvited intruders. Minnesota law requires more responsibility on the part of the homeowner or shooter.

"The reason that I call what we have in Minnesota, not the castle doctrine, not the stand your ground doctrine, but the reasonable belief doctrine, is because the words of the statute. You must reasonably believe that you are in great danger of great bodily harm or death or that you are trying to prevent the commission of a felony, in your place of abode, your house, where you live," said Joseph Daly, Emeritus Professor at Hamline University School of Law.

In 2012, Governor Mark Dayton vetoed a bill that would have expanded Minnesota's deadly force doctrine to places other than just the home.

The current law is listed under 609.065, Justifiable taking of life.

It reads:

"The intentional taking of the life of another is not authorized by section 609.06, except when necessary in resisting or preventing an offense which the actor reasonably believes exposes the actor or another to great bodily harm or death, or preventing the commission of a felony in the actor's place of abode."

As to Gypsy, couldn't have happened to a nicer and more deserving fella.

Perhaps the 16 year old will be given ample opportunity to sit quietly and re-evaluate his chosen profession, given the steep learning curve ol' Gypsy had to climb.

I am not holding my breath. considering he already has developed something of a resume'. :o
