now this was an interesting gun

Postby phorvick on Tue Oct 14, 2008 4:45 pm

I was up at jerry45's last Saturday and one of the folks there had this gun, and I was able to get some trigger time on it. It is a hoot to shoot, but the $$ to purchase is not leading me to the cashier...yet...

Well you can get an AR-57 upper if you don't want the whole gun.

And the ammo is pretty spendy, too!

Actually you have to buy .223 in huge bulk to get it for cheaper. I think I've seen this ammo for $19/50 rounds, 38 cents per round.

I think its a very cool but not a very useful gun. If I had one I would have to SBR it it would be way cool :)

I've shot one of the five-seven pistols, but not the PS90. That little pistol barked super loud and had no recoil... It also had a very bright muzzle flash, I mean VERY bright. In the light alley I could see it and it actually started to hurt my eyes.

That's good to know! I've been thinking about getting one of these but the availability and cost of ammo was keeping it lower on my list. You can find the guns much cheaper these days than they were a year or so ago.

Igot the opportunity to fire one of these in full auto about two years ago, god is shoots nice, no rise, no twist, recoil???? whats that. What was really annoying though was that no matter how quickly i tried to burp it, it still unleashed at least 12 rounds, its ROF is astounding. still a waayyyy cool gun though. The f2000 (basically its big brother) is simply an astouding gun, probably my favorite 5.56 chucker and is the first on my list of EBR's to purchase, I also want to give their SCAR a go when I can find one. Yea the F2000 is awesome I love mine. I really think the bull pup design is the evolution of assault rifles.

Well Bushmaster had the M17S...and the British have the L85. If it's the future of assault rifle design it's a long time coming! The Kel-Tec RFB with the forward ejecting design is pretty interesting though. Wonder if you can shoot your own brass. :)

I've put a few hundred rounds through a full auto SBR P90 that belonged to a local police department. Between the MP5 (in .40) and the P90, I'd prefer the MP5.. but the P90 is a pretty sweet weapon. I'd love to one one in a SBR configuration. They are quite small...

It is crazy how much in price this thing skyrocketed. I bought two that I have for $1250 each 5 years ago (sold one for $1550 2 years ago to some guy that really really wanted it)....and got free red dot sights by mail in rebate. Back then, the mags were extremely high in price.

It is a fun gun with almost no recoil but it serves no purpose to me other than that it is fun to have one. I have thought about replacing the barrel and putting a tax stamp on it, but too much hassle.

not sure about FA but in semi the 90 is a far more accurate firearm than the mp5, even in its intended short barrel config. too bad food for it is so spendy.

I like mine quite a bit. Enough that it made it through the "Great Purge" of 2010...haha :-) Was never even on the list of things to consider selling.
