Well since he's only 4 I won't allow him to handle a gun yet and I don't think he'd have much fun going with anyways yet. When he's older though I hope he's interested in shooting with his dad.
FWIW I shot my first gun, a .22 lr when I turned 4. I am happy to report that I have shot guns for more than 51 yrs. I fired my first Shotgun at 6 yrs of age, with my dad placing his hand behind my shoulder for support. It was a 16ga at a Turkey Shoot, and I won my mom a fresh turkey.
That is one of the BEST memories of my dad, still today. I had my oldest son shoot his first time at age 6 and he is an avid hunter and now owns his own security company. He tells me that that first shooting experience, is his favorite memory as well .
