First up, the Remington 9mm R-51. An alternative to the Shield?

What's up with the knurled barrel?

The pic is the threaded barrel version for use with a suppressor.

Is that some sort of different fixed barrel system? Can't be straight blowback. Can it?
Yeah, but I shoot with THIS hand.

Are you sure? It does not look threaded, you couldn't screw anything onto the barrel using the "threads" in the picture. It just looks like there are grooves cut into it for no real reason. I'm thinking some genius in the Remington marketing department just photoshopped in what he thought would look cool.

Could be a screwed on thread protector....?
Although you'd think the threads would be a smaller diameter than the thread protector which doesn't seem to be the case...

I guess it's possible, but it'd be a pretty odd design. The grooves around the barrel would only make it more difficult to screw on and off if they are part of a thread protector. They definitely are not threads themselves as pictured.

It'd be kind of tough to screw a suppressor on when the threads don't go all the way to the muzzle. The barrel doesn't look long enough to stick that far out of the slide either.

Good point. Screwing a suppressor on using the "threads" in the picture would keep it out of battery by a good 1/2" or so. That doesn't seem like a very good design...

Doh! Further research says these are grasping grooves on the barrel to aid in disassembly. Huh.

It's a very unique fixed barrel with delayed breech-block system designed by John Pedersen almost 100 years ago

I have to say--I've never been much of a Remington fan--but I like the looks of that pistol.

Looking forward to giving one a try...

Where is the extractor on that gun?
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

If it's like the original, the extractor is at the 6 o'clock position inside the breech block. It can't be seen in the picture above
