They have a 4" bbl .500 but I don't think they offered a short barreled 460. I'd be tempted, (I always am) since it can fire 3 calibers but since control the reloads I can download 460 if I want. Still....it's a PC and I am tempted. I bet there will be some used ones along with a box of ammo minus one cartridge!

They offered a 2.5" model, briefly--it was a "bear slayer" or "ultimate survival" model, or something like that--had a bright yellow grip, came in a yellow Pelican case...

Does GII Recon differ from the model they offered last year? Or is this more of a marketing thing?

Significantly different. They managed to scale the 308 down to the similar exterior dimensions as a 223/5.56. Sooo - no need for proprietary stocks, fire control groups, or handguards as well as lighter weight.

Has DPMS made any claims as to accuracy with the GII? They are charging Armalite type prices, but I didn't see any accuracy gaurantee's mentioned on their website. (of course most of us understand this is the gun alone, without any "human help" adding to the MOA number) Also they say "Lighter" but they don't say how much. Is there any kind of an apples to apples comparison that we can go off of?

Palmetto has some teasers on their facebook of that and a 1911! Sounds like I chose the right year to be interested in 308 ARs

I wouldn't worry too much about the price till we see them on the street and some time has passed for price normalization, it always seemed to me that DMPS is optimistic with their MSRPs, check out their msrp vs what buds is selling them for as a reference, there is a big difference.
