H&R 22lr revolver project. The Thread

Postby monschman on Sat Nov 01, 2008 7:51 pm

Well as promised I got myself to the EFFEN breakfast thismorning and had a great EFFEN time. I met some new faces and had a great meal.
As promised I brought the handgun that some members have offered to help me clean up and auction off, the funds of which will be put to a good cause (toys for tots fund, victim of lake phalen attack fund, something to be decided by the good people here).

So far these people have pledged their help, if you feel you can offer services that are not listed either p.m. me And I will work with you in making this project a worthwile cause.

Strad has pledged to make some new grips
Mnglocker has pledged a new blue job
Vlad has offered a custom holster

It is my desire that the work be completed by Decenber 1st at which point I will auction this gun. I have spoken with tom and ron and they are aware of my intentions and will help moderate this project and see that the funds will be used properly.

So far I am leaning towards donating the proceeds towards our toys for tots drive, if anyone else can think of an equally suitable donation then by all means do not remain silent. If you have services to offer, shoot me a mail and lets see what we can do.

Currently the gun is with mnglocker. Dan if you can can you post some photos of before during and after so we can follow the progress.

Thanks everyone and hope to see yall again soon. Don

Ok, progress report, yesterday I cleaned the living bajeepers out of this thing, and I did some fancy blueing work today.

Upon reassembly I have found that the cylinder does not want to advance when the trigger or hammer is pulled. The spring on the "Swing Out / Pull Pin Revolver Lever & Spring Assembly" seems to not be persuading the lever hard enough to contact the timing spur on the cylinder.

If someone on here has a Numrich dealer account would they be able to order the part, #219590D and possibly have it mailed to my house? I'd like to get this thing working like a swiss watch asap so we can get it on the bidding block.

Never mind, I'm impatient and just did it myself.

Not when you figure out which way they go out, and a brass hammer and propper drift punches don't hurt either. :P

Just don't call me an umbrella drink. ;)

It's going to Strad next for grip fitting. Numrich shipped the part yesterday, so I'm expecting to see it by Friday.

Tomorrow Slurpee is going to work some revolver-fu on it. Hopefully. Then it's off to Strad'n Vlad for grips and leather.
