Has anyone taken a look or discussed Jesse James' new endeavor into the firearm making industry? He wants top dollar but the man knows metal without a doubt....

First I've seen of it. From seeing his shows on TV back in the day he made some interesting looking bikes. Functionality, quality and long-term reliability are something I'm not convinced he's got figured out. I hope it works out for him, but there's several manufacturers I'd go to first.

Shady business dealings and shadier personal life. Don't know why I would want a gun with his name on it.

Style over substance would be my guess for the ultimate end result.

I agree about his supressors they do look odd. Regardless of his lifestyle and life choices I'd love to have the smarts the man has!!

Tattoo pay up sucker on your palm and you'll be on the right path. Be nice to hand him $5000 and then realize you are a sucker. From what I've read though is he's partnered with STI to make the pistols.

I agree. This statement on the site is written like it was plucked straight from a fiction book:
The Journey to this gun started 5 years ago with Jesse’s trip to Israel. Learning from Master Blacksmith Uri Hofi sparked his quest to master the ancient art of forging. Fast Forward to 2014 and a trip to National Treasure Blade smith Jerry Fisk. Refining his skill set to include the 3000 year old technique of forge welding dissimilar metals together(Damascus). Jerry was the pivotal link to making it all work. With New found passion for metal work and firearms, Jesse proceeded to forge a 400 layer billet of Damascus for this incredible Cisco 1911. They end result of hundreds of hours of labor speaks for itself.

I agree that those prices are redonk-ulous.

Especially for something like an AR with his name on it, that I could build at home. Some of those Damascus 1911's are nice looking though.as far as the 400 layer Damascus, I have forging experience, and that's not hard to do.

Damascus is different types of steel, like say mild steel and high carbon steel, layered together. You might start with maybe 5 of each stacked on top of each other, alternating the two steels, for 10 different layers.
Once they are forge welded together, you heat them up, stretch them out, then fold it over creating now 20 layers. Fold it again, it's 40 layers, another fold is 80, and another is 160, fold it again to 320. You can see how it adds up quick with not a lot of work.

I've seen pictures and videos of his shop, he has the right tools for the job. Still those AR prices are nuts.

He knows the real money is in apparel and branding. The guns are just toys and if he happens to sell a couple, so be it.
