I'm alway suspicious of "unmarked" kop cars, you never know if it's real or not. My policy is to call 911 and report it. I'd rather deal with those repercussions, then deal with a poser.

A few years ago, after a particularly nasty line of thunderstorms blew through the metro, I drove down to Afton to check on my boat.

I ran into a guy on County Road 18 in an SUV with an orange light bar. His car was parked across one lane with all his lights flashing. He stopped me and told me he was with Metro Skywarn and he was closing the road.

I told him to pound sand and drove around him.

There was a downed tree, blocking maybe three feet of the road.

Whackers.

Skywarn has a purpose, sure. When you turn into this guy, you have a problem. And there are a lot of whackers out there.

That looks like the guy I saw in St. Paul in the original post. Not 100% sure after all this time, but it's definitely in the ballpark. Like I said, no gun visible, NO ID VISIBLE, just a metal cop clipboard and an arrogant "I'm gonna kick your ass attitude" for a guy who simply hesitated for a moment while turning right from East 7th to Mounds Park Blvd. and cut the stealth KOP SUV off by mistake...
