Pistol Model Price Difference

Postby unknown on Sat Sep 27, 2014 3:40 pm

Hi there,

I was looking into buying a p938 for the wife. Crazy enough a couple days ago I got some sale from joeboboutfiters.com and one of the models is priced $200+ below retail price. Do you know why this might be?

This is what I am looking at:
http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Sig_Sauer_P938_9mm_3_7rd_2Tone_Ambi_w_Laser_Ru_p/gun-sig-938-9-nbs13.htm

And this is what the rest are priced at (way more expensive for not having a laser)

Do you think the silver slide release and safe might have anything to do with the price?

Thank you for your thoughts.

I'm sure Joebobs got a price break from their distributor on that particle configuration or just has a surplus of them. It is in no way inferior to any other p938, just a different color combo.

Buy it up

More or less, yes.

There's nothing wrong with it. I'd bet it happens to be a special run from Sig that they're offering at a discounted price.

If I were to guess.

It may be a "special configuration" gun. Sig has released them periodically for years. Supposition is that an inventory of a major component, frame, slide, motivates them to build a gun with unique features to balance out stock on hand. Neat to have a limited production piece, but check closely to know what features are added or missing. Not sure if they are always marked as specials.
