Can of worms has been opened. Challenge to the NFA

Postby cmxterra on Fri Oct 31, 2014 8:19 am

Let's see where this goes.

Hollis v. Holder - Lawsuit over 922(o), NFA and various other items

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1681489_Hollis_v__Holder___Lawsuit_over_922_o___NFA_and_various_other_items.html&page=1

This could be groundbreaking. After reading the entire complaint I am filled with hope.

I'm betting it will be thrown out in the lower courts and the Supremes will refuse to hear it.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Don't be so sure. That's not a safe bet. This suit has teeth and an unlimited supply of financial support.

Was reading the suit, $200 in 1934 in fees to own some fire arms, I had to look up the value of money in 1934...

1934 is after our prohibition...
the issues that were caused regarding use of firearms that prohibition created makes the prohibitory fees to own some firearms that it brought about moot :) imo

I wish them luck, but am not going to hold my breath.

Does anyone think that Mr. Holder will actually respond to this? In the six years he has been in power as our top law enforcement official he has chosen to either ignore laws or apply them selectively to the benefit of certain ethnic minorities. This will not be any different.

He's in office until his replacement is confirmed by congress.

Holder could resign tomorrow. I would think the political will to investigate his nefarious actions as Attorney General would diminish greatly if he did so. The new majority has plenty of other oath breakers to target.

Then who is the current AG? In my book resigning is not the same as announcing an intent to leave upon confirmation of a successor. Obama could very well accept a retraction and I would not be surprised if it served their agenda.
