If you could only have 6 guns what would they be?

I could not get my list to 5 so 6 it is:P

1) Glock 17, my has the tenifer coating always goes bang
2) Remington exp 12 gauge, can't shoot her much anymore with this shoulder
3) Marlin 30-30 lever action, got her used at the Frontiersman, uber accurate with iron sights
4) 270 bolt with a scope, Just got the savage one I hope it will fill this slot
5) M-15 rifle, I have a lower I may try to build it with... Was fun to shoot in the army
6) Marlin 39a .22 lever action, not sure I will be able to get this one the MSRP is to steep, even the used ones are spendy :S

Almost want to put a Barret .50 cal on the list, but I prefer my shoulder unshattered...
I like my taurus snub .357/.38, I would add, but I am better with the Glock

Note: If I won the lottery some gun shop would be able to close for the week after I stopped by! It would be like Xmas in the walking in safe/panic room/multi-media center!

Note: was trying to be realistic as who wouldn't want the rail gun from that Arnold Schwartzsomthimgorother movie or a P90 from stargrate or...

In muzzle energy order:

.22 "Trainer" handgun (M&P22, Ruger SR-22, Sig Mosquito,1911-22, etc.)
.22 "Target" handgun (S&W 22-A or 41, Browning Buckmark, Ruger MK, Beretta Neos, etc.)
.22 Rifle (10/22, Marlin 60 or 795)
9mm/.40 "carry" gun (subcompact like KelTec PF-9, Taurus 709/740, Ruger LCP, etc.)
9mm/.40/.45 Large handgun (Beretta/Taurus 92/96/100, 1911, other)

That's 7; to get to 6 I guess I would eliminate the .22 rifle, or multi-caliber one of the handguns via conversion kit, or combine the .22 rifle and the evil black rifle with a multi-caliber conversion kit. I notice I'm skewed heavily towards handguns and you're skewed towards rifles...

I noticed, There are some handguns I would want to get but I love Marlin levers.

I don't like .22s much, I have had to many ft-bangs tho my brother seems to not have that problem.

7mm STW rifle - or a 280 Ackley Improved - for hunting at longer distances
6mm Rem - my choice for a varmint rifle
12 gage shotgun with interchangeable barrels - to match hunting requirements
357Mag - all around revolver cartridge for hunting or self defense
22LR - for plinking and small game hunting

My theory is as follows:

Everyone needs a 22 pistol and rifle for plinking
I only hunt upland - a 20 gauge is more than enough and a 6lb SxS is a dream to carry - saying nothing of how much lighter shells are
A 308 will handle just about anything in North America - a 270 would be my alternate (a vintage Remington 760 BDL pump is very cool) - the Model 88's are also very cool and somewhat rare
Everyone should own at least one revolver
If you are going to own a center fire automatic pistol how can you not have a 1911 in 45

If I had to cull the current herd I would weepingly save:

-IMI Timber Wolf 38/357 pump.
-Colt 1911 "Black Army"
-CZ 75 Compact PCR 9mm
-AAC 300BLK 9" pistol w/URX3
-BCM 5.56 11.5"LW pistol w/KMR
-BCM " 14.5"ELW-F w/KMR

At the last moment I might dump the easily replaceable CZ in favor of the Rossi 1892 lever with cowboy action job.
The lever is butter smooth. Can be operated with one finger.

3. M&P pro 9mm.
That should take care of the tactical side

4. Win94 30-30 (nothing special but my first deer rifle from my dad)
5. Kahr PM9 ( best damn pocket gun)
6. Ruger MKII stainless target bull barrel


#7 would be everything else.

• The one I currently have, a Beretta 90-TWO in .40
• Kel-Tek KSG 12+1 12ga
• S&W model 57 .41 Magnum revolver with 6" barrel
• (some semiauto rifle in .300 or larger- still undecided)
• a pistol configuration AK
• aaand... I dunno. I guess my sixth would be my "fun to own but really impractical" gun. A 500 S&W maybe, but there are others I'd consider.

EDITED: for my sixth choice, I think I'd take a .22 rifle to have as a varmint gun.

4 .22 rifle, preferably tube fed. My jc higgins mod34 or marlin 60 would both work great
5 AR with 5.56 and 6.8 uppers for plinking and medium game
6 Semi auto shotgun for fowl and pest hunting edit : A Mosin Nagant m91/30, because sometimes you need a club, sometimes you need a spear, and sometimes you need a boomstick and this is all three
