What we should do, of course, is get together and swap a bunch of guns, then report them as "lost". No one would then have the guns the records say they do. Not illegal, either, so long as the recipients were fellow Minnesotans.

Still not sure how legal that would be, reporting the firearms as lost if you know where they are..........

It's a moot point anyways, seeing as my guns are at the bottom of the Mississippi river after that boating accident......... or was it the Minnesota river? Maybe it was Turtle river....... so hard to remember.

I think then the cops' phone will be ringing off the hook with people reporting guns lost or stolen.

Might even be some fresh dirt piles around the yard or even a new pad of concrete

I think there might be a lot of dead ATF agents if that really happened. I'm not suggesting I would do it but I'd be willing to bet out of the millions of gun owners in the country quite a few would and I don't think the ATF has that many extra agents. It's a safe bet that word would get out within a matter of an hour of any large scale gun grab. It's unlikely to happen and the fact that all the government sees is a generic long gun description is the only thing stopping it. If they knew exactly what guns were sold I think they actually would try a gun grab in tiny stages by going after specific guns that they hyped up in the media as extremely dangerous and unreasonable or easily converted to full auto etc. By going after small groups of guns they'd get people used to it and increase it as time goes on with more and more guns being added to the dangerous catergory.

Just swap each one, twice. Then the original owner doesn't know. but hey, if it would make you feel better, just do the swap, then don't make the report...

I kinda suspect that if any large scale ban ever took place, they'd find creative ways to motivate you turn in your guns. Put a lien on your house, freeze your bank acct, take your kids, etc. And they'll make sure you keep quiet about it by threatening more of the same.

That's my happy thought for the day.
