Have you ever overpaid by more than $200-$300 for a gun?

Multiple times, but what do you do if you want it. Only time I've felt bad about it is when I add it up, like around now. Well not that bad, I've still got them.

If I don't ever sell the one candidate, I can't be absolutely sure I overpaid by $300-400. And I would prefer to remain ignorant.

I say buy and cry if you have the hots bad. Cost average with past good deals to ease that pesky nag in the back of your mind who tries to spoil all your fun.

The value of a gun is whatever the buyer is willing to pay and the seller will accept. Only you can decide if it is worth that price to own that gun.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Thank you to everyone for your insight. After posting this thread, I don't know if all the planets and stars lined up or what, but since this post I managed to find a couple other NIB examples of the same pistol I've been looking for for years. Strange how that happens. This time, these other pistols are more appropriately priced around the $650 mark instead of the $900 mark I was originally considering. Guess patience is a virtue :)

Have you ever overpaid for a gun?? Or ammo??

Gee, you must be at Gouger Mountain!!! :P :P :P

BTW - the parking lot at the Woodbury GM is normally close to empty these days, due to the Cabela's two miles up the road!!

Agreed, except during a panic when $200 over msrp can look mighty attractive.
