SilencerCo wants to sell you a silencer ... and also the lawyer you'll need to buy it.

Was a pretty interesting article, and video.

I also read the comments under it. And some make a lot of sense, and really I never thought about it this way. But really, that suppressor isn't anymore dangerous than a sling, or handle added onto the gun. How is that suppressor going to make that gun have the ability to kill anyone or anything any easier?

It's not the movies... A suppressor won't make that gun as quiet as a mouse. To many anti's have watched way to much tv, and to many movies.

Well, they should be all for going to a range. Dayton wants to give them all a big fat raise, buy new planes, and we could spring for a free range trip. Gosh, what more could they want or need...

Anyone wanna donate a car for them? Maybe chipotle?

They need to be removed from the NFA, there is little proof they are used in crime.

You phrased that wrong. There is significant proof that their use is crime is almost non-existent.

The entire NFA needs to be repealed, not just suppressors.

Why do I want a suppressor?

Would have been great back home in Ely in my younger days to harvest deer year round, but other than that, I have no idea where it would have come in handy.

1) Ever been to an indoor range? Even doubling up earmuffs and earplugs you're still experiencing >100 db sound pressure levels, which OSHA considers to be safe for under 2 hours per day max... hearing loss is cumulative so every single loud noise you hear damages your hearing to one degree or another.
2) Because you can (should be able to/it's possible to) have one.

1) Any time you practice indoors or out to reduce hearing loss.
2) As a courtesy to others near you.
3) When hunting to avoid spooking all game within a mile of you.
4) In a self-defense situation so you can hear dispatchers on the phone or responding LEOs after a discharge...

On a home defense gun so you don't go deaf.
On a car defense gun so you don't go deaf.
The short term pain/shock and hearing loss will make it much worse to manage the immediate incident. Long term hearing damage may be a small price to pay for saving a life or lives, but it shouldn't be necessary.

If you know anyone who has Tinnitus, they will tell you why they want one. Mine came from being in artillery my 1st 8 years of my military career. Ear plugs or muffs didn't do crapola to protect anyone ears when those 155's lit off. Mine is progressively getting worst.
