I'm not using either. I've never put grease on a pistol nor have I had any issues or abnormal wear. I wasn't the first one to mention Mobile 1 either, it's very commonly used on guns.

Gun Grease opinions

I use grease on AR's mostly. White lithium grease from fleet farm seems to work good. Basically I put it on surfaces that show wear and some other places. Most other things I've been experimenting with slip 2000 and it works real good so far. I'm trying grease here and there on random things as I clean them, but mostly just ARs now.

Whatever you use on your guns, take them out midwinter and see how they function. BESA's winter pistol league was always interesting, when people would figure out that their favorite lube would turn to goo, in 0°F weather...

It has begun anew! The holy war over gun lubricants ;)

I prefer Milcomm TW-25B synthetic grease. I use it on my pistol barrel and slide rails, and on my BCG and lugs on the rifle. It turns liquid as it gets warm and makes cleaning the BCG a lot easier :)

+1 on Tetra Gun grease. I use it on pistol slides and ARs. I'm sure oil is fine, but after a few hundred rounds the surfaces look "dry" so I switched to using grease most of the time. A tube of that tetra stuff lasts a long time.
