Frame grab from a video of me shooting a non-mouse gun at the BPR last winter:

Nice shooting Eric. I didn't know you guys shot on a V5 target.

As we're posting score cards, here's my performance in the NTI at Perry. While my standing and 300 scores were nothing to write home about, I was rather happy with my 600 yard performance.

When I grow up I want to shoot like Mark and Erik; nicely done.

Erik,
Re the score card/ procedure:

I assume the holds being called/ marked by someone watching the wind. . .?

What's the size of the 'V' ring?

Thanks,
and again
Nice shooting

Thanks Ed. Matches don't always turn out that way, but it sure is fun when they do. This was a team match, so as I was shooting, a coach was making the wind calls and adjusting my sights. All I am supposed to do is pull the trigger when the sight are lined up, and tell the coach where the shot broke. There is a 3rd person plotting the string, and he is the guy who fills out the sheet that I posted the picture of. The marks in the left hand column are my calls after each shot. I don't have a scope or anything on the line, so all I can see is what it looked like when the trigger broke. I tell the coach what I saw, and he makes his adjustments off of that. If I call a V at 3 o'clock and it comes up a V at 3 o'clock, we are both in sync and everything is good. Other than that, the shooter only knows what the coach tells him, and a good coach won't tell you much. Usually there will be some difference between the call and the result, as the condition is constantly changing and it doesn't take a lot to move the bullet a few inches from 1000 yards away. We were up to 10 full minutes of wind by the end of the string, so keeping them all inside the 5-ring took a good coaching performance. I definitely had the easy job.

The V ring is 10".

Here's what 10 minutes of wind looks like at Camp Perry:

Forgot to say, "Nice shooting Mark!" A 195 is solid anywhere, and excellent under the pressure of Perry. Nicely done!

Guns are not the problem, people are the problem. And short of lobotomizig everyone who has a bad thought they will continue to be for the forseeable future.
