Kydex holster

Postby jshuberg on Mon Aug 03, 2015 12:12 am

I know a couple of you guys make kydex holsters. I'm a big fan of the Raven holsters, and have one for several of my guns. Unfortunately, no one makes one for a Sig X5E AllAround. I'm looking for someone who could make a Raven clone for my X5. I also have an X5 L1 that I might be interested in getting one made for as well. It would have to be made from the gun itself, since they don't make a bluegun for any of the the X5s.

So, who want's to help me out and make a holster for me?

I might be able to help. I'm not sure how much of a "clone" it'll be, but I like to think I do a pretty good job. Color, right or left hand and draw (with a cant or straight up and down)?

I just looked at Ravens website, and I think I can mimic a Phantom model.

You know, I'm going to give doing this myself a shot. If it doesn't go well you'll be hearing from me! I built a press tonight, and ordered foam, kydex, rivets, etc. we'll see how it goes!

Send him a blue gun, he'll send you a holster for free.

I use his mag pouches and the ecp holster. Set up to be used with or without a 1" belt.

There are no blueguns for an X5 L1 or X5e AllAround.

Yeah, I think that's a competition or an L1. My AllAround is the newer X5E with a slightly different grip profile, a rail and decocker. I've never found a bluegun for either of them. The only holsters I've found for them are Bladetech and some custom leather ones. I'm not a fan of the Bladetech, they're not tight enough to the body, have too aggressive an angle, ride too high on the waist, and the retention sucks.

If you know of anyplace that sells a bluegun for either of these guns, let me know! I haven't found anything.

The top two stainless are my X5 L1 and X5e AllAround:

Call kee and talk to him about it.

He's been making kydex bolsters since 2002 that I'm aware of.

Hey, it turned out pretty good! I ended up having to relieve some of the detail around the rail and ejection port to adjust retention, but it works great and looks pretty sweet. Here are some pics:

Nicely executed.

I'm a huge fan the Kydex holsters.

Anyone know of one for the Ruger LCR?
